Field trips enrich in-class instruction, and they’re a tool to help bolster engagement and expand students’ horizons. When it's possible to expose students to a broader world and have a culturally enriching curriculum without sacrificing academic outcomes it improves academic outcomes. According to research, field trips improve test scores, and the researchers found that culturally rich excursions reinforce academics, and students who participated in field trips do better in class.
Teachers: Use the district Informed K12 Forms to access digital forms to request field trips and conferences. Work with CTE OAII if you have any questions.
Conferences and field trips should be requested one year in advance for grant and budget purposes.
Annual CTE Conferences will be requested in May using the provided CTE Google Survey Request. Use the Google Form in the Google Classroom to request conferences:
CTE Conference, Rancho Mirage
Educating for Careers
ACTE Conference
Industry Conferences should be requested in May on the same CTE Google Survey as above; even if the teacher has yet to have the exact dates and times, the conference should be requested in advance for grant and budgeting purposes.
If you find a new conference or become aware of a conference you would like to attend in the current school year, call and talk to the CTE Coordinator.
