During the one-minute speech, I said words like 'and' and 'yes,' which distracted from my main point, and I also made some grammatical mistakes while doing it.
For the group presentation, we discussed what a hobby is and its importance. First, in our presentation, we have talked about the benefits of having a hobby; we have given some examples of hobbies that could strengthen your lifestyle, such as unusual hobbies, modern hobbies, school clubs, or student interests. We also list many hobbies that modern time people have. Through our presentation, we have too many words like "like "and". And also, our presentation isn't smooth enough.
We have read this short story in class. This story is talking about a man called Bruce Poon Tip, who is a multicultural immigrant with Chinese, Dutch, and Guyanese roots, who faced discrimination after moving to Canada. His entrepreneurial spirit sparked at 12 with a newspaper delivery business, and a trip to Asia revealed a gap for cultural travel experiences, inspiring him to found G Adventures, now operating in 100+ countries with $160 million annual revenue. He gives back through non-profit Planeterra, empowering local communities and protecting the environment.
SDG 3 is the foundation for achieving the SDGs, as health is not only a result of development but also a prerequisite for it. It aims to address global health inequalities and ensure that everyone has access to high-quality healthcare services, regardless of economic, social, or geographical constraints.
SDG 3 has a big connection to our hobby; if you have a physical hobby, you could make your body healthier, to prevent many diseases. And also hobbies can express your mental stress, like relaxing, and also improve your mood. And lastly, having a hobby could also improve your social connections; you could meet more friends if you're involved in a team hobby.
In this topic, I have learned about different hobbies and the benefits of having hobbies. But not only on the academic part, but I have also learned about how to do good teamwork in our group presentation, and also some communication and talking skills improved in class. And for the goal in the future, I will link my presentation to global goals like SDGs to deepen my presentation, and create a presentation timeline to ensure I don't rush and finish the presentation just before the class. And also some prep-time plan to make sure I have a better performance on the stage.
First of all, my hobby connects to my PE and health class. In PE class, the teacher has taught us about how to keep our bodies healthy. I remember that he said we need to have a hobby, it could make our schedule and our bodies healthier.
And the group presentation has made me connect to my Chinese class. In Chinese class, we also need to make a PPT about a topic. These assignments could help us develop our part in our communication, and when we are present.
