School Values: Critical Thinking - Identification of Changes
I couldn't find the coordinates of the circumcenter of a triangle so I should have studied that more. I could have used the fact that while reviewing, I got the most questions wrong on these specific types of questions to study more on them. Another thing I could have improved on is at least attempting the bonus questions as points would not have been deducted from my grade and I could have gotten a better score if I got one of them correct. I should also work on implementing concepts that were used to solve problems into other problems as all of these questions used the same concepts to solve them, they just had different ways to solve them.
School Values: Critical Thinking - Connection to Other Classwork
The math that I learned in Grade 8 helped with me understanding the concepts that were taught in this unit. My geography class also helped with this test as we learned how to use maps and that translated to me having an easier time calculating the distance of one point to another on a map. This connects to my PBL as the math concepts in this test can help with the coding of variables inside our game.
School Values: Global Citizenship - Identification of Global Issue
This connects with the global issue of human settlements. Calculating the distance between places could provide more optimized building plans to reduce housing shortages. We could also use it to make more sustainable and affordable housing.
School Values: Global Citizenship - Identification of Local/ Regional Issue
Taiwan also has a housing crisis. While the main factor is the pricing of housing, there is also a real concern in the amount of housing space that is in Taiwan. This leads to squatters being around Taiwan and the overall reputation of Taiwan decreasing. To solve this, we could try to implement techniques that could make housing cheaper.
School Values: Global Citizenship - Appreciation of Difference
There are multiple different ways to solve problems like these and each person has a technique they like the most.
Growth: Vertical Growth
All the prior classwork in this subject was helping me understand concepts that would be useful in this test. I definitely should have taken time to study more on the topics that I didn't understand.
Growth: Work/ Study Habits
I want to study more by seeing which questions I got wrong the most on homework assignments and using that information to study that specific information to prepare for the test.
Growth: Collaboration/ Feedback
The teacher giving me feedback on my homework assignments helped me understand the concepts better and overall helped with my study habits.
Growth: Connection to Future Plans
I hope that the skills that I am learning in this class can be applied to future math classes just like how my grade 8 math applied to this class.
Class-specific 1: Conceptual Understanding of Mathematics
To find midpoint and distance, I used the formula that was provided to me. To find the perpendicular bisector, I plugged in the midpoint, distance, and slope I found into y=mx+b to find b.
Class-specific 2: Application & Problem Solving
These concepts could be helpful if I was trying to
