When filming auditions on your own, the two tools that always help are tripods with ring lights and backgrounds. You always want your camera to be steady and for you to be well-lit, and schools specifically ask you to have a solid background to film in front of that’s one color and doesn’t distract from your performance. These tools are invaluable during your prescreen process, and they’re definitely worthwhile investments. Here are some products that I’ve found or used that can help you during your filming:

BACKGROUND
BUDGET OPTION 1: Instead of spending the money on a background, I just cleared out a spare room my family had and used the blank wall in there to film my prescreens
BUDGET OPTION 2: Tape or pin a black sheet on an empty wall behind you and use that as a neutral background, this is a good option for those who don’t want to spend too much money but don’t have an empty wall to film in front of
