Congratulations! You’ve been accepted into the schools you auditioned for!! I knew you could do it! Now it’s time to begin the final part, choosing the right school for you. Apart from considering things like financial aid, location, curriculum, and other things like that, you also need to consider the campus! The campus of whatever school you end up going to is going to be the place you live for the next four years, so it needs to be a place where you feel happy and comfortable, and one surefire way to do this is to go and visit.
Most schools, after you’ve been admitted, will send you the date or dates for their admitted students days. Typically they’ll be in either March or April, and you’ll have to fly out to where the campus is, sometimes visit for a few days and stay with students, view classes, and do a bunch of different stuff to get a good idea of what you’ll be experiencing at their school. I did one of these for UNCSA, I flew out to North Carolina and I spent two days living in the dorms, going to classes with actual faculty that I’ll be working with, and I had the best time ever. I highly recommend that if you have the time and the money to fly out to the school or schools that you’re considering the most, you should take these opportunities.
