Age 15 - Feeling Inferior To Others
"All my friends are busy with their lives, and I just feel like I'm too free with mine. I know it sounds like a good thing, but everybody's gradually preparing for the DSE, at s4. Everybody's so stressed and I feel like it's so underwhelming for me? I should be even more worried than them, because I'm not smart. I'm so f**king dumb, I was a few points away from getting 0 in maths, out of a hundred marks. What am I supposed to do with myself? People are just constantly stressed and I feel like I'm not catching up to their level of stress."
Age 14 - Never Being "Enough"
"Im a student in Hong Kong and sometimes everything is so overwhelming like your not good enough to be the best but your more than average, but not more than what your parents expect. And especially with the constant judgement of your peers for not being pretty enough or skinny enough or smart enough it all crashes down so hard on you feeling that you'll never be good enough."
Age 13 - Choosing Schools
"So basically my school has A to E class and my parents said if I go anything lower than B class I have to move schools but the problem is I like my school and my friends are all here and my schools isnt like a bad schools so I dont know if I should move schools or stay cuz i wouldn't have a choice if I get anything lower than B class but if i do I dont know what to choose"
Age 15 - A Regret
"Around a year ago my school required a bunch of people to take a German public exam early - the thing is that “bunch of people” was half the grade, AND so many only started in Y7. I, having learnt German since Y6, felt really stupid as I watched them prepare for the exam. I didn’t take the subject as seriously as I should’ve at an earlier stage and although I knew I couldn’t change the past, countless waves of regret kept smashing into me. Honestly it was difficult mentally, but I pushed past it because it showed me the pain of not trying hard enough from the beginning."

"Regret never comes from giving it your all, but it comes from what you could’ve done, but didn’t."
Age 15 - Feeling "Average"
"I have no hobbies at all like i don’t have a specialty and im average at everything. i want to play volleyball but i suck and no one’s willing to teach me, i really want to dance but i look too awkward. i’d really want to know how i can start dancing 😭😭 is it too late?"
Age 12 - Starting A New Path
"omg since im like at this age theres js a lot for me to decide, like the fomo on my teenage life but also the pressure to lock in academically to get into a good secondary school is lwk killing me, i js wish there was an easy path in life that doesnt require hair falling out. but tbh ive come to enjoy the final moments of primary school w my greatest friends and i js hope the friendship will continue even after our education grows apart"
Age 13 - Feeling Lost
"I feel so behind all the time and talentless because everyone has like one main activity like sports or music, but i’m just mid at everything 😿"
Age 17 - The Need To Work Hard"
"I know clearly that I want to work in Finance, and I have built my path towards it, being university choices and work placements. I’m silent on the outside, but I like to discuss things deep down. I know that I don’t have someone to rely, thus I don’t have a choice to slack so I must work hard. I disagree with some of my friends’ naive perspectives but I respect them, and I seldom envy them that they could be so extrovert. I envy being “normal”, but at the same time I’m afraid of it."

"Why should I work hard? I work for the ability to choose, so that with better grades and connections I can choose the pathway you want to take, however if I don’t work hard, I do not even have the ability to choose, the society chooses me.
I have dreams, but dreams aren’t free."
