YES Mentorship Program

A most-needed program for our Newbies

A new program the current board is working on!

What is the YES Mentorship program?

The YES Mentorship program is a program provided by the YES Alumni Association in Lebanon targeted towards the new YES-Lebanon students that are expected to travel to the United States & newest alumni cohort. The mentors will be in contact with the students before traveling, while in the U.S., and a year after they come back to Lebanon.

What are the goals of the program?

The program aims to:

1. Enhance the communication with the Students that are yet to be alumni so their engagement and network of connections with the alumni association would be affected positively.

2. Increase the awareness and knowledge of the current YES students about the alumni

community and encourage them to take an active role in it as soon as they return.

3. Aid YES students with helpful and effective ways to engage in the U.S. (volunteering, clubs, sports, learning new skills, etc).

4. Encoarage students, upon returning to Lebanon, to participate in projects/volunteering opportunities and initiate their own as YES alumni.

5. Academically (upon returning to Lebanon):

• Help students stay up to date of what lessons they had missed compared to the American curriculum

• Inform them about the baccalaureate programs offered to help them decide which best fits them

• Guide them to a better future through helping them apply to available college scholarships in Lebanon and abroad

What is the role of mentors?

Mentors should do their best to:

1. Checkup on the YES students (once a month).

2. Make sure that the YES students are well informed about the YES alumni Association.

3. Aid students with any question related to academics, opportunities, and scholarships while in the U.S. and upon returning to their home country.

Accepted Mentors: Congratulations! We have high hopes in you!
