Video 1: Warm-up

Join with Lucy and Elita, thinking of wintery words and action warm-ups.


Video 2: Create

Watch as Joss Stone and her friends create song lyrics by thinking of school words, then adjectives and finally longer phrases.

Make a list of words which are important to you and develop these words by adding adjectives.

eg magical music, delicious chocolate etc


Video 3: Create

Watch how Angry Dan creates poetry and art. Create your own rhyming couplet art about YOURSELF.

Use your list from video 2 to make a list of rhyming words eg cello - hello, game - frame etc.

Write a rhyming couplet using your ideas

eg Mrs Cliffe says hello, she plays the cello!

Then illustrate your lyrics in the style of Angry Dan.

CHALLENGE 1 - Think about feelings – when do you feel happy? When do you feel sad/ excited/ scared etc?

Click on the link below to listen to A journey through music emotion and record how you feel when listening to each of the 4 featured pieces (Hermann /Debussy /Chopin /Holst). Draw happy/ sad/ confused etc faces on a sheet of paper and/or write about your emotions linking your answers to the music, eg the high pitch made me feel afraid.

CHALLENGE 2 - Listen to Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. Identify what Nina Simone sings about that makes her feel good.

Listen to the song again. Whilst it is playing, draw a picture of what makes you feel good.

CHALLENGE 3 - Finish by joining in signing/singing of Good to be me.

Live singing sessions for children at home

Sing Up will be running free live sessions on Tuesday mornings with a #FeelgoodFifteen minutes of singing and musical fun to wake children up and get them ready for a day of learning.

Tune in next Tuesday at 9am GMT for the first of a weekly series of live sessions, run by a range of fabulous vocal leaders.

Join in on Sing Up's YouTube channel or on Sing Up at Home where #FeelgoodFifteen will stream live for anyone to watch, aimed primarily at children aged 4 – 11. If you miss the live session, don't worry. Each video will be saved so you can catch up afterwards.
