Effects on the AWA sailing the Moth downwind range
The boat speed of the Moth is never constant, even if you keep the heading and wind. The rate of speed change increases towards the downwind range (> 140° TWA) especially on wind > 15 kt.
Of course this results in high rotating rates of the AWA display in the WindCompass. Orange TWA zone markers (140°-180° TWA) indicate the range where those rotate effects raise most. Watch the black TWA pointer. more...
Trick is, never go straight Downwind! Do alternating broad reaches. Those markers may help finding the best angles.
