SEND WIND
In Racemode WindCompass will send "racing" to the boat.
No need to type "cruising"..."racing" in chat anymore.
In Cruisemode WindCompass will send wind to the boat.
No need to type "winddir"... "windspeed" it in chat anymore.
Click the Send Icon (Paperplane-Icon) to switch On/Off
(Default: Smart Mode)
SMART MODE
The Smart Mode takes care of many automatic functions and detections.
WindCompass will do all the above Send Wind functions and...
automatically send the current Compass wind to boat when sitting on it,
use Boat Racewind, if the Boat is already on racewind,
turn Racemode Off, when standing up from boat (to avoid taking old racewind to a new race)
get the Racewind back from boat, when re sitting on boat (after a crash etc...)
take over new racewind, if boat racewind changes,
autosync Crews Compass as soon Crew activates the Gestures button
resets the wind, if changing from BOSS to BWind boat
automatically set to Multistart1 - if not preselected by user (in Lalias Startline Multistart Mode)
automatically selects Trial Mode - if not preselected by user (in Lalias Startline Trial Mode)
Click the T of the word 'SMART' to switch On/Off
(Default: ON)
When applicable, the Sail Trim Display shows colors of the trim setting for your sails, similar like the given Hud from the boat.
Red = sail way to loose (pull sail in)
Yellow = sail to loose (pull sail in)
Green = sail optimal trimmed
Aqua = sail to tight (let sail out a little)
Grey = Your boat is being windshadowed by some other boat
Note: If its hard to distinguish between Aqua and Green Color, you can select a darker Blue color:
Click the two small blue dots below the Timer button
(Default: Aqua)
Bonus: The Sail Trim Display is clickable to raise and moor (if supported by the boat)
Click on the 2 small white dots below the Stopwatch button to enable/disable this function.
(Default: enabled)
Addon: WindCompass shows the Sail Trim Display for boats that have the SailTrimDisplay Addon or the Info Hud installed.
If not automatically shown, go to Options > Channel, enter add
(Default: enabled)
Activates Racemode
Listens for Racewind
Activates Countdown Timer
Tells the boat to get racewind (if "Send Wind" or "Smart Mode" is activated)
(Default: OFF)
Notes:
Boss and BWind systems are supported.
Before Race, always get fresh Racewind, to make sure, not taking old Racewind to a new race.
Depending on your setting, there will be a Warning before leave Racemode.
Windspeeds over 30kt will be declined.
For most boats in the database there are boom angle numbers shown on the outer ring to help trimming the sails.
Those colored numbers suggest, what number to trim the sail to.
Example: if number "30" is up top, trim your boom angle to around "30".
Trim your mainsail with Up / Down keys or your gestures.
You find the readings for "Boom" in the cockpit or on several Text Info Huds.
Relevant numbers are displayed here. Click on them to change its display:

Countdown time / Stopwatch time (click the numbers, to change timeformat: 00:00 or just seconds)
Multistart / Trial Mode (in Timer ON, click the little triangle, to change the startmode)
Lalias startline v2.x allows up to 4 starts in one race.
Up to 4 different boat classes can start on their own group in the same race.
(Example: B22 on Start 1, Star Class on Start 2, Bandit IF on Start 3, Sjogin on Start 4)
- In Compass activate the Timer
- Click on the small triangle in the lower left corner in Text Hud,
- Select your Startnumber (if you sail the Bandit IF, select "3")
Your Countdown Timer starts only, if your Startnumber (Bandit IF group) is due. So raise your sails, if its your turn.
'Trial' is an option for the Startline mode 'Trial' - a race practice routine of the startline.
It allows automatic Timerstarts on crossing the startline. (WindCompass also autodetects the Trial Mode).
START / STOP the clock
LAP = restart clock and output lap time to personal chat
SPLIT = output split times
Clock Reset = reset stopwatch
(Default: OFF)
Note: During an active Timer the Stopwatch is not available.
If the Options button is covered by the Split button, use the little gear below the SPLIT button.

You must be in the same Region with the Raceline to be able to receive the signals.
It shows the Countdown, as soon the Startsignal has been received.
Click on the numbers, to change timeformat: 00:00 or just seconds
After the countdown is up, the Timer keeps running.
You can change this in Options > Channel > enter count.

beeps at 30, 20, 15, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 seconds
(Default: OFF)

Bonus: The Sail Trim Display is clickable for "raise" / "moor"-commands, if the boat allows it.
You can enable / disable it here.
Note: This function does not work on all boats (e.g. Loonetta, Dolphin Moth or standard BWind boats).
Workaround: Use gestures instead.
(Default: ON)
Switch WindCompass On/Off
Actually it turns the Compass Hud out of sight. Basic functions remain active, except Shouter, Camera, Boat Autodetection and Sending Wind. If switched ON, it shows a logo of the currently selected boat.
opens the Boat Menu
Toggle Shouter On/Off
By default the Shouter is listening to local chat. Things said in local chat will be shouted.

For Settings click the little gear next to the icon:

Whisperer On/Off
Shout On/Off
Set Channel = Set channel numbers the Shouter or Whisperer shall listen on.
Note: Channel numbers must be different for whisper and shout.
Example: Use a Gesture to shout something out:
in Shouter > Set Channel > Enter "99" to make the Shouter listen on channel /99.
create/edit a gesture:
Chat to say: "/99 STARBOARD",
Shortcut Key: "F1",
Activate this gesture.
Now, when you press "F1", the gesture will say "STARBOARD" on channel /99.
The Shouter picks that up and shouts it out on local chat: " 'Your Name' shouts STARBOARD " ... voila!
Similar procedure for Whisperer...

Gestures are the fastest way to set wind (no using menu or click on Hud).
If you use gesture chat commands to set wind for your boat, you can do the same for WindCompass!
It listens for chat commands in
BOSS format ("winddir ..." and "windspeed ...") or
BWind format ("N", "E", "15", "21" etc.)
on channel /29000
or your own channel (How to set my own channel: see Options).
It also listens for wind commands from own worn HUDs (example: Skipper Hud from Rubber Bunny)
(Default: OFF)
Note: Gesture mode is not available in Racemode.
If Gesture mode is active, manual windsetting by Click is disabled.
If both, skipper and crew, using a WindCompass, the skipper can synchronize the winddirection and -speed on the crews Compass.
This might be useful for practice purposes or sailing lessons.
This works in Cruisemode.
Crew activates the "Gestures" button. (If Smart Mode is active, it triggers Autosync with Skippers Compass.)
Skipper can use "Send Wind"/"Smart Mode" OR gesture based shortcuts.
Note: Skipper might be the owner of the boat.
