WindCompass is designed to hold many relevant sail info compact in one place:

• heading (HDG)

• boatspeed

• winddirection

• windspeed

• true wind angle (TWA)

• apparent wind angle (AWA)

• velocity made good (VMG)

• bearing to target (BTT)

• shows the red "No go" zone and other zones where the use of spinnaker, gennaker, winged sails and even hydrofoils are effective

• Sail angles / Sail ratio / Hike / Heel / Depth / Rudder / Foils / Foiling (if an Info Hud in boat in use)

Whats HDG, TWA, AWA, VMG, BTT?

The NAV function allows you to:

• load and follow routes/waypoint lists from USB-notecards

• go to Next or Previous waypoint

• Loop or Reverse waypoint list

• go to a waypoint number in that list,

• go to a SLurl or Region-Name

• see marks as red beacon inworld

• see bearing to target (BTT)

• see velocity made good on course (VMC)

• see estimated time elapsed (ETE) to waypoint

• delete routes via menu

Whats USB, BTT, VMC, ETE?

Beginners find a 'BASIC' button in 'Options' for a more simpler layout with way less information.

• Racers can get Racewind AND get the boat to aquire Racewind by just a click.

• Cruisers can set wind by click on the Compass OR by gesture based shortcuts.

Note: WindCompass supports BOSS and BWind systems.

The Smart Mode takes care of many automatic functions and detections.

• automatically sends the current Compass wind to boat when sitting on it.

• If the Boat is already on racewind, Smart Mode uses that racewind.

• When standing up from boat, the Racemode will be quit.

• On Resit, Smart Mode gets Racewind back from boat.

• If Boat Racewind changes, Smart Mode takes over that new racewind.

• If Crew enables Gestures, Crew compass auto sync with skippers Compass

• Changing from BOSS to BWind boat resets the wind

• Lalias Startline Multistart: automatically set to Start1 - if not preselected by user

• Lalias Startline Trial Mode: Trial automatically selected - if not preselected by user

When sitting on boat, WindCompass attempts a boat detection and loads the correct layout, boat data and Compass settings.

When applicable, colors on a Sail Trim Display show the trim setting for your sails, similar like the given Hud from the boat. 

For most Bandit and TMS boats there are boom angle numbers on the outer ring to help trimming the sails.
Colored numbers suggest, what number to trim the sail to.

A SLSA compatible timer shows a countdown from the race startline. 

A Stopwatch with Split and Lap function lets you keep track of your sailed times, for sailing or racing practice. 

• A Build-In Shouter allows racers, to shout out things said in local chat (or by a gesture on a channel)
  For example: shout "STARBOARD", "ROOM AT MARK" etc. during busy races.

• The Whisperer can be used for tactical commands to your crew
  For Example: "Spin Up after next buoy." , "Spin down." etc.

• It helps finding your boat quickly after a crash, WindCompass can show your last known position with a TP-link.

• A Find Boat function pings a lost boat to help finding it. (only available, if the boat is equipped with the Info Hud or Boat Finder- see AddOns)

The build in camera offers you 3 camera modes: 

• Fixed = may help on camera issues after bad region- or parcelcrossings.

• Follow = may help on different BWind Boats (like Moth or Lilis) or just for fun

• Birds Eye View = suitable for unclear situations or during racestarts

If skipper and crew using a WindCompass, the skipper can synchronize winddirection and -speed on the crews Compass. This might be useful for practice purposes or sailing lessons.
