2.2 Setting up your Head Mounted Device (HMD)

As mentioned earlier, this course will focus on the use of the Oculus Quest headsets. If you are planning on using a different headset you should check out the support website for that device for specific information on how to setup that headset and access the content on it.

With the Oculus Quest or Quest 2, the setup process is rather simple and you are guided through each of the steps first through the mobile app then through the headset itself.

For an overview of the entire process, watch this short video, then start the process by installing the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App store and follow the instructions in the app. If you get stuck on a step, you can check out the oculus support site for more help.

The steps you will need to setup and start using your Quest 2 Headset:

• Charge your headset

• Create an Account

• Adjust your headset and View (this is important for comfort and to avoid motion sickness)

• Setup your headset with a mobile device

  • • Download the oculus app from the android or apple store

    • Sign into Oculus with facebook

    • Setup a VR profile

    • Adjust your preferences and privacy settings

    • Create an oculus store PIN

    • Add your payment information

• Link the app to your headset

• Finish the setup in your Headset
