Unit Overview

In this unit we will start to integrate the materials that we covered in the first two units and take a deeper dive into the learning theories that underlie VR based learning activities. We will start with a brief overview of the specific characteristics of VR that make it an appropriate technology for learning. We will then look at three learning theories that are supported in virtual environments, Situated Learning, Experiential Learning, and Social Learning. This will provide you with a strong foundation for developing your learning activities which we will begin in the next unit.
