Unit 4: Developing Learning Activities Using VR

4.3 Assessing Learning Outcomes

Now that you have a set of learning objectives you need to figure out how you will assess whether your learners have met those objectives. This can be done in multiple ways. The important thing you want to remember is to make sure your assessments align with the type of objectives you have come up with.

In our assessments we saw several examples of how you can assess your learners. You could have pre and post tests to assess their understanding or asses changes in their attitudes about the topic in question. You could have them develop self reflective papers or discussions in your course learning management system. You could have assessments built into the VR environment you are using. The way you choose to asses them should demonstrate the type of learning that you expected from the learning activity. If possible your assessment should also encourage self reflection upon their learning and provide them with feedback on what they were successful with and what areas they may need to revisit to improve their learning.

Consider how you are going to assess your students' learning and record your assessment plan on your worksheet.
