Use the dropdown menu to find your precinct. A list of candidates will also contain the information they have submitted. If candidates have submitted information for a profile their name will link to their profile.

If you are a candidate for local elected office submit your profile information right away, first fill out the form, and if you desire, email your photo for your profile. Finally, if you like, contact us to make arrangements to record a 2-minute video where you can explain why you deserve their vote.

Town Meeting INFORMATION

WINCHESTER TOWN MEETING – the Town of Winchester is governed by the Home Rule Charter which was adopted by the voters of Winchester at the Town Election held on March 3, 1975. The legislative body of the town shall be a representative town meeting consisting of one hundred ninety-two members from eight precincts who shall be elected to meet, deliberate, act and vote in the exercise of the corporate powers of the town. The Presiding Officer of the Town Meeting shall be a Town Moderator. The Moderator shall regulate the proceedings of all town meetings, decide all questions of order and make public declaration of all votes.

The Town Clerk shall serve as the Clerk of Meeting. The Clerk shall give notice of all meetings to the members and the public, keep the journal of their proceedings and perform such other functions as may be provided by the charter, by by-law or by other town meeting vote.

The manner in which Town Meetings are to be called and the specifics surrounding the conduct of the town meetings can be found in the Code of Bylaws Chapter 2 Section 1 – 6.
