The Leadership Team mainly focuses on skills associated with leadership, lessons learned through the academic Leadership Education class, and the teachings of General George C. Marshall Methods of study include the checkout of academic JROTC textbooks, online research, and group study during JLAB meetings
The Academic bowl focuses on helping cadets prepare for multiple types of quizzes such as state exit exams, graduation exams and college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT. This team is tested in areas of JROTC curriculum, English, math and science.
Each team has a leader and at least 3 other members (including alternates) who will work together to complete 2 levels of competition and testing before being qualified to compete nationally.
The JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized competition where teams of cadets compete against each other in a bottle of knowledge and skill. There are two types of “bowls” for cadets to compete in.
