Surefire 6P Original

Replacing the early round-bodied 6P Classic, the official name for this model is the 6P Original. This is the latest and the last version of 6P. The bezel has a hexagonal anti-roll design. This is likely the most widely owned and recognized Surefire flashlight. Production is estimated to have started in the early 2000s. This version has a few minor changes, mainly to the logo and its planar surface. The bezel models with a plastic retaining ring use a glass lens, while the earlier no-ring models had a plastic lens. According to a local Hong Kong supplier, Surefire in the US stopped supplying them (and likely ceased production) around the end of 2015. This was Surefire's last incandescent flashlight model to be discontinued.

The original Surefire Xenon lamp provides 65 lumens of output (possibly more in actual use), with a tight central hotspot and strong throw. The color temperature is quite white when using fresh batteries. The lamp was factory-adjusted, but only to center the hotspot. The size and shape of the beam pattern is uncontrolled and variable, often not perfectly circular. Reports indicate the lamp life is only around 20 hours, and some users have even had new lamps burn out right away.
