§ 170.176 DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

For the purpose of ensuring the secure development and maintenance of informational technology services for the government offices and departments of the Municipality, there is hereby established the Department of Information Technology, the executive head of which shall be the Mayor, and shall consist of not more than two information technology specialists, who shall be appointed and provide information technology services to the Municipality in accordance with § 170.71 of the Municipal Code.

§ 170.177 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALISTS - APPOINTMENT; SERVICES.

The Mayor shall appoint under a contractual services agreement, by and with the advice and consent of the Village Council, not more than two information technology specialists, who shall report to and be accountable to the Mayor, and who shall provide the following information technology services:

(A) Repair and maintain all informational technology applications, including without limitation, hardware, software and information management programs;

(B) Repair and maintain all information technology equipment, including without limitation, computers, computer monitors, facsimile equipment, printers, scanners and telephones;

(C) Assist in the development of information management programs, when required;

(D) Maintain and uphold the administrative rules, policies and procedures of the personal information system;

(E) Ensure the security of all information technology and management applications, programs, and equipment;

(F) Perform other duties consistent with the nature of information technology management under the direction of the Mayor.

§ 170.178 CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT.

(A) In the appointment of an information technology specialist, the Mayor shall, with the advice and consent of the Village Council, enter into, in the name of and on behalf of the Municipality, a contractual services agreement with the same, which shall expire one year from the date on which it was executed and shall be subject to renewal upon recommendation by the Mayor and approval by the Village Council.

(B) Such contractual services agreement shall contain the service provisions set forth in division (A) through (F) of § 170.151 of the Municipal Code, fix the hourly rate by which the information technology specialist shall invoice the Municipality for services rendered and fix the frequency by which the information technology specialist will render services and the terms of compensation for services rendered.

§ 170.179 BOND.

Each information technology specialist shall execute liability insurance in the amount of $20,000.00. Such bond shall be filed with and kept by the Village Clerk-Fiscal Officer.
