RUTLAND - Mayor Tyler M. Eblin is announcing upcoming infrastructure projects in the Village of Rutland.

The first project involves work along Main Street near the former Joe's Country Market. The Village contractor will be installing a new catch basin and drain pipe from a nearby ditch leading to a catch basin located along Main Street, where repairs will take place, with the goal of remedying back water and ground erosion taking place near a portion of the sidewalk. Piping will also be placed across the roadway extending to Little Leading Creek Creek where ground erosion has occurred overtime.  A nearby tree will also be removed.

The second project will take place at the intersection of Main and Salem streets near Fox's Pizza Den where a collapsed catch basin will be repaired.

The Rutland Village Council approved an amended resolution during its March 1, 2021 regular meeting authorizing an appropriation in the amount of $11,600.00 to complete the repairs. The project bid was awarded to MJC Property Management LLC.

"Our community has long awaited these very important public works projects," comments Mayor Eblin. "We look forward to working with our Village contractor through the full completion of both projects."

The projects are expected to tentatively begin this month after pre-project paperwork is completed.
