COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

The Village of Rutland is the proud home of four community organizations. The Village understands the importance of active community organizations and their impact on Village residents, visitors and businesses, and thus encourages residents, neighboring residents, businesses and other organizations to partner among one another and develop additional organizations aimed at meeting the needs of the community. Alumni Association

The Rutland High School Alumni Association is comprised of the graduating classes of Rutland High School, which conferred its last diplomas to the Class of 1967. The organization's Annual Banquet is held in May at Rutland Civic Center. As tribute to the Alumni Association, the Village displays the colors of the former Rutland High School, crimson red and black, throughout the community shortly before the Annual Banquet. The Alumni Association has partnered well with the Village in the improvements of the Rutland Civic Center and the Village consequently extends its sincerest appreciation.

Rutland Volunteer Fire Department

The Rutland Volunteer Fire Department consists of volunteer firefighters who protect and serve the Village of Rutland and surrounding Rutland Township through the provision of fire prevention, fire protection and fire suppression services, as well as emergency medical rescue services. The Department was formerly an administrative department of the Village. In 1987, the Department incorporated as a 501(c)(4) corporation for non-profit. Operations are funded through a township-wide fire protection levy as well as periodic fundraisers. Persons interested in joining the Department should contact David Davis, Fire Chief, by telephone at (740) 742 3415.

RVFD Ladies Auxiliary

The Rutland Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is the support arm of the Fire Department. The Ladies Auxiliary provides food and water to firefighters and other Department personnel during emergencies, assists with fundraisers and helps with organization marketing.

Rutland Youth League
