NEW: Uniform Rack Color Coding
This year, our uniform racks are color coded, based on the colors of the rainbow. Student rosters are posted in the band room and on the black hair station. There is a small chance that the uniform number is different from the number you were assigned during band camp, so please double check on the chart posted in the band room. Remembering your bag number and rack color before band review will make your life easier.
Varsity:
Red: 1-46
Yellow: 47-92
Green: 93-138
Blue: 139-184. Note: the blue rack is shared with color guard uniforms.

How to hang up the uniforms in the bag (Video)
Make sure to watch this video on how to hang up your uniform correctly. It is a very informative video done by our alumni, Andrew Witty and Winnie Hsiao.
How to put hair in a bun (Video)
Kids with long hair need to be up in a bun and neatly pinned up and no stray hair out. Please make sure they don’t wear earrings either. If they cannot take earrings off, make sure it is hidden under a band-aid.
Clothes Hanger Buckles: We have installed silicone buckles to the clothes hanger hooks to help secure them during transportation. Please handle with care. When taking your uniform from the rack, gently pull the end of the buckles off the hook to unbuckle. When returning your uniform, gently pull the end of the buckles to attach to the hook and make sure it is secured.
Shoe Check: Your shoes are an important part of our image presented to the judges. At the formation zone and pre-competition silent zone, please make sure to check your shoes to make sure they are tied neatly and spotless clean. Our water cart leaders are carrying small cubes of cleaning sponge that works great with a little bit of water. Please be responsible and find a volunteer for help.
Uniform Care: All uniforms should be hang up correctly to avoid wrinkles before returned to the Color Coded Racks. No uniforms should be left on the bus or table/chair before students head out to awards. If your pants have a loose hem, please report to the uniform volunteer asap to get help.
Your beret should be pushed off to one side instead of looking like a shower cap. Check this sample image.
Students with long hair, please learn from this the new demo video! You are recommended to do two side braids an then pin the two braids closely to their head. Do NOT make a bun because it will push the beret upward.

Why do we have to be so picky about every single detail of the Marching Uniform?
There are uniform inspections at band reviews, and they are an important part of the competition scores.
Sometimes judges would even walk into the group at the starting line to inspect each marcher's jackets/pants/shoes/beret/shakos closely.
The Marching Uniform need to be spotlessly clean, unwrinkled, and all hair needs to be neatly hidden inside the beret/shako.
NO jewelry or earrings allowed. For earring studs that cannot be removed, a small piece of band-aid or skin-color tape will need to be used to cover them.
Marching Socks must be pure WHITE for both JV & Varsity. Please NO grey toes as the color will show when kids' heels lift up. NO ankle socks.
More details will be communicated before the first band review of each season.
