Site is in early stage of development. Right now we are updating panels documentation.
Here I want to compare VectorMotion to different programs. I will update this list while learning them deeper. These comparisons represent my experience from playing with these programs, it may be different from yours. So read carefully and decide for yourself.
Animation
Clear winner here is VectorMotion as it allows animation to be made and rendered as videos. It worth noting that sequencer for animation combination with audio is quite laggy and barely usable. At the same time for basic needs animation editor itself can be more than enough: you can move, copy-paste keyframes, ease them, animate almost any value inside your editor. So if your goal is to animate then go with VectorMotion.
Effects
VectorMotion has more layer effects, e.g. Outset/Insert to offset paths or Perspective Deform to put shape in a perspective. If you can't draw what you need without them, again prefer VectorMotion. You can combine both programs, who prohibits you from that?
Text editing
If I needed to do some text-based graphics I would go definitely with Grafika as it not only has text style presets, but also gives an opportunity to treat them as path and edit them how you wish. You can easily make dripping text effect like the one made in Inkscape.
Snapping
In VectorMotion its a pain in the ass. You really need to make your canvas big enough to make your snapping work quite well. Smaller canvas is harder it will be to move shapes and snap them. I didn't notice such an issue in Grafika so here it wins without any questions. Besides, there are more options regarding snapping in Grafika. You can snap to nodes for instance while in VectorMotion you basically can't do that at all.
Groups
They are barely usable in VectorMotion and can even lead it to crash, read more about it here. So I'm really happy to see that in Grafika it's not a problem to use them.
So, to summarize, according to my experience VectorMotion should be chosen if you need more things done and combined together in one place (but who says that it can do them the best way?). If you want to focus on drawing banners, logos and don't hit ceiling of Grafika caused, for instance, by effects absence in that volume then go ahead and try it. While if you want the best of both worlds combine these tools and be happy.
We are planning to write Grafika documentation, or at least make tutorials about it and publish them, in the future.
Despite the fact that OnlyOffice is not an animation software nor a vector drawing program it still can do some of this stuff, but in a different way. Here we will compare it's presentation maker to VectorMotion as both of them can do animations and it can be quite interesting comparison.
Shapes
Amount of available shapes out of the box in OnlyOffice, let's call them standard shapes, is enormous: stars, call-outs, buttons, and more. It may be quicker to make something out of them compared to VectorMotion where only few shapes are available. Besides it standard shapes can be tweaked after being added to the canvas: their corners can be rounded for instance.
Winner: OnlyOffice
Shape effects
VectorMotion has much more shape effects compared to OnlyOffice. Both raster and vector ones. At the same time, OnlyOffice presentation editor provides you just with text boxes effects and shadow effect for all shapes without capability to blur it.
Winner: VectorMotion
Text editing
In case you need to convert your text to path in OnlyOffice you need to intersect it with a rectangle covering it. It's not quite intuitive and it can produce struggles if you don't know this trick. On contrary, VectorMotion has a an operation to convert any shape to path.
Winner: VectorMotion, or none if you know this trick
Shape operations
In VectorMotion boolean operations are non-destructive which means that you can modify shapes and the result of the operation will be different. In OnlyOffice it's the opposite - after applying such an operation you end up with its result and the only way to get back and modify something is to cancel it (or copy original objects before applying the operation).
Winner: VectorMotion
Snapping
None of two snapping systems is ideal. In VectorMotion snapping quite dependent on the canvas size and more it is better snapping works. In OnlyOffice there's another problem: it's overwhelming and currently there is no option to get closer to PowerPoint-like snapping system.
Winner: none
Groups
They are almost unusable in VectorMotion and can even lead it to crash, read more about it here. While in OnlyOffice this doesn't happen at all.
Winner: OnlyOffice
Animation
VectorMotion bases its animation on key-frames. They define exact movements of shapes, their rotations, size and other transformations. Almost anything can be animated. While in OnlyOffice we pick up premade animation effects and combine them tweaking their options if they are available, in so-called Animation pane.
Winner: VectorMotion for control, OnlyOffice for simplicity
Templates
VectorMotion compared to OnlyOffice doesn't provide any presentation templates at all so what you can do is to search for VectorMotion projects online to use them as a templates.
Winner: OnlyOffice
While animation programs and presentation constructors are different things, I thought that it would be entertaining to compare both of them. The point is that for different kind of animation, design you need the right tool and I tried to make it clearer for you which one you can choose and for what.
