Photocopying Service: 02:00 P.M. – 05:00 P.M.

College library will be closed as per Vidyasagar Metropolitan College holiday list.
The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is a systematic, computerized record of the library's holdings. Its primary purpose is to help users locate the physical location of documents and resources available in the collection.
Users can also explore the library’s collection and search for required documents using various criteria such as title, author, subject, Accession No, Class No, ISBN, and other available options.
The library offers computerized catalogue search services through OPAC on LAN-connected computers within the college. To perform OPAC searches, users are requested to follow these steps:
Open an internet browser (e.g., Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) on a computer connected to the college LAN.
Type the following address in the address bar:
192.168.0.69/webopac
(Note: This address is accessible only within the library’s local network.)
Enter a keyword or phrase in the search box.
Select the desired search type by clicking on one of the following options:
"Title" – to search by the title of the document
"Author" – to search by the author's name
"Subject" – to search by subject
Circulation Service
The library provides borrowing services for reading materials. These services include issuing materials from the library collection for home use and reading room access, checking in returned materials, and shelving reading materials. The circulation staff will also assist you in placing reservation and recall requests for items that are currently issued out. They will help you locate items in the stack area and assist with other related matters.
New Arrivals
The library regularly procures books, journals, and magazines based on user interest and demand. Under this service, users are informed about recent additions to the library collection through the library website, WhatsApp group, Facebook page, Facebook group, and the New Arrivals on the library notice board.
Reservation Service
The Library encourages you to place items that will be in high demand on Reserve. Most items in the general collection can be placed on Reserve, with the exception of Reference items.
Online Search Service
The library provide customized searching of computerized databases. Through soul 2.0 software the library can access book databases, covering a variety of subjects.
Reference Service
The provision by librarians of personal assistance to individual readers in pursuit of information.
Online Book Suggestion
This is a good service usually offered by the university. One can suggest a book for the library to acquire via e-mail or through a dedicated page provided in soul 2.0 software. The user should provide the following items of the documents to be acquired.
•The name and department of the user who is suggesting.
•The status of the user (e.g. undergraduate, graduate, faculty, staff) with e-mail address.
•For each item suggested, one should provide Author (required), Title (required), Publisher, Year of publication, Price, ISBN number.
Access to Internet and E-mail
In the Library we have four dedicated computers having Internet connectivity for the students and staff.
