The meeting of the Library sub-committee was convened on Wednesday, 23rd. March, 2022 at 6.30 pm in the Principal’s office under the chairpersonship of Principal Dr. R.S. Gangopadhyay.

Members present:

3. Dr. Sandip Mukherjee

6. Mr. Pulak Ranjan Naskar

Agenda:

1. Progress of library activities (cataloguing, weeding etc.) from January 2022 onwards,

2. Activity plan of the library during 2021-2022,

3. Miscellaneous.

Minutes of the meeting

The chairperson welcomed the members to the meeting of the Library sub-committee.

Agenda-1: [1] Convener Prof. A. Mishra asked the librarian Mr. Pulak Ranjan Naskar to report about the progress of library activities. Librarian reported that the report has been prepared up to February,22 (report is annexed). But members argued that the progress was not satisfactory. Dr. Debasish Joddar and Dr. Sandip Mukherjee suggested to give focus on the following points—

(i) lack of maintaining actual data,

(ii) slow progress of cataloguing and weeding of books,

It was resolved that Nani Gopal Barik, casual lab. Attendant of Geography,Tushar Kanti Nag and Lalji Rabi Das will help Amit Nayak in the library as and when necessary.

[2] Dr. Debasish Joddar opined that issue and return of departmental library books must be audited by the library at least once in a year.

It was resolved that librarian Sumit Kumar Manna will look after matter and will report to the library sub-committee.

[3] For weeding of books it was resolved that librarian Mr. Pulak Ranjan Naskar will complete the weeding of commerce books within 31st. March, 2022 and rest books will be weeded as early as possible.

Agenda-2: No activity plan for the period September, 2021 to June, 2022 have been prepared.

It was resolved that librarian Sumit Kumar Manna will prepare activity plan as early as possible and should be uploaded in the departmental website.

The meeting ended with thanks to chair at 7.15 pm.
