Another delightful evening...
O Gaanewali, though not a full house, made a significant impact, bringing me closer to my dream. The event featured ticketed audiences and performers from Mumbai and Pune, celebrating the renowned Thumri queen Shobha Gurutu. Despite minor setbacks, the production went smoothly, leaving the audience captivated in the world of O Gaanewali.
Amidst the success, my health steadily declined. Ignoring it for three days due to the demands of the event, I eventually reached a breaking point. My throat was in excruciating pain, making even swallowing saliva unbearable. Despite my fatigue being evident to my colleagues, they couldn't fully grasp the extent of my suffering.

Meanwhile, I received an award from SPPU, Pune, for purchasing books for my P.hD., a proud moment for my parents. However, amidst the accolades, my health continued to deteriorate. With a fever setting in, I hesitated between seeing a general physician or an ENT specialist. Eventually, I sought a second opinion, leading me to Dr. Suraj Joshi, an ENT specialist near my home.
Dr. Joshi's diagnosis revealed a severe tonsil infection, necessitating immediate treatment. Despite the looming forum event, I managed to muster the strength to carry on. However, the pain was unbearable, and for two days, I couldn't even consume food.

Upon further examination, Dr. Joshi determined that the prescribed medications weren't effective, prompting a shift to hospitalization for IV treatment and injections. Despite the discomfort, the support from Dr. Sharayu and my family kept me going. Witnessing their concern and sacrifice filled me with guilt, but I focused on enduring the treatment as swiftly as possible.
As the days passed, my fears grew, unsure if the treatment would yield results. However, Dr. Sharayu's unwavering motivation and Dr. Joshi's determined efforts kept me hopeful. Relief came when the culture report returned negative, allowing us to proceed with confidence.
Finally, after fourteen days of struggle, the IV and injections ceased, and my blood reports returned to normal. Although ulcers in my throat persisted, an endoscopy revealed positive progress. The arduous journey of recovery had commenced, requiring an additional five days to fully recuperate.
Sharing my experience serves as a reminder: never underestimate the severity of a throat infection. It's crucial to prioritize health and seek medical attention promptly.
