Urban Value Field Economics (UVFE) is a new scientific framework that investigates the dynamics of urban value within complex urban systems.
Building upon the Urban Land Value Field (ULVF), which models the spatial distribution of urban land value, UVFE extends the analysis to explain how urban value is created, propagated, accumulated, transformed, and governed through the interactions of infrastructure, accessibility, land use, economic activities, public policies, technological innovation, and human behavior.
Unlike conventional urban economics, which primarily focuses on markets, prices, and equilibrium, UVFE adopts a field-based perspective in which urban value is viewed as a dynamic phenomenon continuously evolving across space and time.
By integrating concepts from urban economics, spatial science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins, and systems science, UVFE provides a unified theoretical foundation for understanding urban value dynamics in smart and digital cities.
As a natural extension of ULVF, UVFE shifts the focus from representing urban value fields to understanding their dynamics, establishing a scientific basis for intelligent urban planning, sustainable land governance, and evidence-based policymaking.
