Season 1 Ep 1 Incidental Players
Lt. Sofee Tsmel
- Deep Space 10 -
Sofee stepped off of the Tomcat. It had been a while since she actually had a bit of R&R. Upon entering the starbase, she heard about a new restaurant on the base, a small restaurant by the name of Jundaville Rocket. That name sounded familiar. Raising an eyebrow, she proceeded straight to the restaurant.
Upon entering she saw the owner of the establishment, a beautiful, blonde woman who upon seeing Sofee quickly ran up to her, and hugged her.
"Why Lieutenant, I didn't expect to see you again so soon."
Feeling a little curious as to why a human would be hugging her, she stepped back.
"Perdy Hawkins, I did not realize you would be here. I recognized the name of your restaurant, and thought it would be right to come and talk to one of the former members of the Tomcat."
"I am glad you did. I hear you are still on that ship."
"Yes, I am still on the Tomcat."
"That's good to hear. You know every nook and cranny of that ship by now."
"Have you heard from Kraft since you left?"
"Yes, I have actually. He has been posted on the Starbase too, and he is actually sitting right over there. I think he misses you."
At that statement, Sofee raised her eyebrow. She then turned and headed toward the table where she found the scraggly headed human.
"Greetings, Ensign."
"Lieutenant Tsmel! What are you doing here?"
"The Tomcat is on a little R&R time. I heard that the Jundaville Rocket was here, and I decided to come see it."
"Yes, I am glad Perdy decided to come here, especially when she found out I was going to be here."
"Ah, I see. Do you like it here?"
"Well, it's not the Tomcat, and there are no Vulcans on the Engineering team. I do miss it."
Sofee raised her eyebrow yet again. She never quite understood Jamin, but for some reason he always seemed to be excited when he was around Sofee. Not as excited as when he was around Perdy, but close. She never quite understood why he had such a fascination with Vulcans.
"I will let you get back to your meal. We will be here for a few days, and you and I can 'catch up'. I am interested in seeing how your life has been since you stopped being my assistant Chief Engineer."
"I can do that."
"Farewell, Ms. Hawkins."
"See ya later, Sofee."
Sofee walked out of the restaurant, and turned left, taking a tour around the station.
- Sofee's Quarters -
Sofee was asleep in her room. Her mind was being haunted by a nightmare as she slept.
Sofee was in the lounge of the Tomcat. She was just planning on enjoying a nice lunch when everything went wrong. She was in there with a few other crew members, including Kaeth the Andorian and the Vulcan/ Betazoid Suluk.
Sofee just went over to order a nice salad, and a steak came out instead. Sofee decided at that time to start working on a list of what to fix when she got back on duty. The lights flickered, the door stopped opening, and the lower crew members started to freak out. Kaeth soon noticed that the ship started to pick up speed, and when they tried to contact the bridge, they realized the comms stopped working.
Sofee went over and started to work on the doors. After a few minutes they tried to blast the door open with phasers, but they weren't working either. When they asked the computer what was wrong, it yelled at them in Klingon.
Suddenly an Ensign called out as he heard a sound coming from the wall next to him. A few moments later, that wall exploded. Sofee pulled herself out from under a chair, and realized she had a few bruises. Kaeth called out for a doctor, but when wasn't available he found the next best thing, a counselor and a fighter pilot with medical training.
Sofee went to check on the wall, but she suddenly felt the room panicing a bit more. She heard Suluk scream out in pain. All the panic from the room had affected his Vulcan/ Betazoid senses. Realizing that she was his only hope, she limped over to mind meld with him.
As she had finished the mind meld, they all heard the Captain's voice over the comms.
=/\=To all personnel, this is the Captain. As we all know there is a problem with the ship. We are working on getting it fixed. So please stay calm and stay where you are. Seyer out. =/\=
Sofee felt her mind being filled with all the emotions and feelings that Suluk had dealt with his entire life, and she almost couldn't handle it, but she had a duty to do. She limped back over to the door. Still hearing the crew panicing, she finally couldn't handle it, and yelled out at them. The anger she felt inside, she let it out, and afterwards felt ashamed of herself.
Suluk came over as soon as he was able to stand up, and helped her with the door. Soon the door opened and when she noticed it, she passed out from pure exhaustion, and an overwhelming surge of feelings rushing into her mind.
Sofee sat up, and had to calm herself from the surge of emotions that began to come back. She thought she had this under control, but she was evidently wrong. She was going to fight this, and she was going to win.
