History

This week our SESE is all about the Presidents of Ireland. There is geography and history involved in this activity.

· We want you to write a short report on our current president. What type of things does his role as president involve? Include facts like his name, when he became the president, what his former jobs were, his hobbies, his family, his famous pets! Where does he live? Where is he from?

· You could even draw a picture of him! · www.president.ie is a fantastic website you could use, we will leave the link below. There is a specific section for children and you can even take a virtual tour of his house! It is great fun!

· If your parents have access to Twitter, the president’s famous pets even have their own twitter account! It is well worth a visit to see what they get up to!

· The other thing we would like you to do is to research a little about the former presidents of Ireland. Can you find out their names, where they were born and try and put them in order, starting with the first president all the way up to the present one.

· If you want, why not write to the president? Tell him your name, your school and class. Tell him what you are doing to get through this time. Don’t forget to include your address, he may even write back! His address is on the website!
