Welcome
The UNIOR NLP Research Group is the research group for Computational Linguistics and Automatic Processing of Natural Language of the University of Naples L'Orientale and is formed by a group of teachers, postdocs, programmers and students of the Department of Literary, Linguistic and Comparative Studies working on applications that allow computers to process and understand natural language.
The research activities range from basic research in computational linguistics and in the automatic processing of natural language to technological applications of analysis and generation of human language and cover areas such as human-machine interaction, dialogue systems, technologies for translation, information retrieval, textual analysis, social media analysis, semantic-syntactic analysis, as well as the creation of linguistic resources (dictionaries and annotated corpora) for applications of various types.
A distinctive feature of the research group is the creation of cutting-edge technologies that make use of Machine Learning approaches and language resources for robust natural language processing. Multilingual access to cultural heritage, technologies for translation, computational stylometry, development of language resources, digital storytelling and electronic lexicography are the main current topics of our research group.
The UNIOR NLP Research Group is local node of the National CINI Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems and supports CLAIRE - Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe.
