EVENT SCHEDULE

The Department of Neurosurgery Centennial Celebration will take place in Ann Arbor Thursday, September 13, 2018 through Saturday, September 15, 2018. We hope you will join us for the weekend festivities, which will consist of a variety of celebratory events at some of university’s most sought-after venues! Please note that individual events are by invitation only.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2018

Welcome Reception and Michigan Stadium Tour

Reconnect with old friends and colleagues and kick off the Centennial Celebration weekend while taking in the views at the Big House; dinner and drinks will be served. Enjoy a stadium tour, including access to the locker room and field. If you’re really feeling ambitious, you can even kick a field goal!

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Self-guided stadium/locker room tours, time on the football field, special Michigan Fanfare Marching Band performance

7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Dinner and drinks

U-M Neurosurgery: Past, Present, and Future Conference

Enjoy a day of interactive talks and presentations reflecting on the past, present, and future of U-M Neurosurgery. Talks will focus on the rich history of Michigan Neurosurgery, as well as its present constellation and hopes for the future.

We are delighted to welcome renowned neurosurgeon and New York Times bestselling author Henry Marsh, CBE, MA, FRCS, as our honored guest and keynote speaker at this conference. Click here for more about Dr. Marsh.

Location: North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) Dining Hall – Building 18 (click for map)

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (breakfast and lunch will be included)

Dress Code: Business Casual

Parking: Parking will be available for attendees in the NC100 parking structure in front of Building 18 of the NCRC. Upon entry into the structure, a parking attendant will distribute parking permits for conference attendees; please be sure to mention that you are attending the Neurosurgery Centennial Conference. Please note that if you already have a gold or blue parking permit, you will be able to park in the structure without obtaining a permit from the parking attendants. U-M Neurosurgery Centennial Gala

Enjoy an elegant evening, including dinner and entertainment, at the U-M Museum of Art. Stroll through the museum with friends and colleagues to take in the stunning works of art adorning its halls and walls.

Alumni Tailgate and Football Game

The Michigan Wolverines play Southern Methodist University at the Big House on Saturday; come enjoy pre-game fare and drinks at the Richard L. Postma Family Clubhouse at the U-M Golf Course. Then head over to the stadium and cheer on the Maize and Blue!

12:30 p.m. | Tailgate at Richard L. Postma Family Clubhouse, U-M Golf Course

3:30 p.m. | U-M vs. SMU Football Game (We recommend heading over to the stadium at 2:30 p.m.)

    • Please note, there is no guaranteed parking at the U-M Golf Course Club House for attendees of the tailgate luncheon. Please refer to the link above for all parking information and options, and please plan ahead, as traffic will likely be heavy on the day of the game.

    • If you are staying at the Kensington Hotel or the Sheraton Ann Arbor (where room blocks have been made available for Centennial Celebration guests), please note that the SOUTH SHUTTLE picks up at both of these locations. Tickets can be purchased from each hotel's front desk for $1.50 each way. Shuttle pick-ups begin several hours before game time; more information can be provided at your hotel’s front desk.
