Have you ever thought “Ah bahala na, basta maka pasa lang,” but then you keep on aiming higher? It is because you know that you, the one reading this, can do better. You know for yourself that I can get through this despite everything that is happening in this “Krazy” world. This poster shows how we students are very determined in achieving our day-to-day goals. It shows that if we are on the zone, no one can falter our attention even with the pandemic. We are very eager to battle anything that would fight against our goals and dreams. Another thing in this poster is that although we live in different communities, it may be in the rural or urban areas, we students have in common is having this fire in our hearts that can never exhaust when it comes to our dreams. Kaya laban lang tayo Ga!

Isang piso. Dalawa. Tatlo. Apat Meron akong lima.
Unti-unting nawawala, unti-unting naglalaho.
Five. Limang segundo na lang at magwawakas na.
Four. Apat na taon, kaya ko pa ba?
Three. Tatlong buntong-hininga.
Two. Dalawang taon na ‘to, parang ang tagal na.
One. Sige. Isa pa.

Vexatis Online Doctrina
“Education is the most potent weapon you can employ to change the world,” Nelson Mandela said. But how can you change the world if you can't address the fact that some of our students no longer can attend school? As a result of the corona-virus, which has closed schools all across the world, almost 1.2 billion youngsters are out of school. As a result of the advent of e-learning, where instruction is done remotely and on digital platforms, education has altered tremendously. Online learning has been demonstrated to improve information retention and require less time, according to research.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly 3,000 Filipinos have sought phone counseling for mental health difficulties, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). In the Philippines, about one out of every ten young adults (8.9%) suffers from moderate to severe depressive symptoms. Some students even refuse to attend school due to a lack of resources. As a result, some students commit suicide because of our current setting.
Thus, we entitled this digital poster project “Vexatis Online Doctrina”, which is a Latin translation for "those who suffer from online learning." This is to bring attention to the fact that not all students can provide and are mentally prepared for this situation. Let us establish the rule not for the benefit of the wealthy, but for the betterment of our country. Let's make a difference in the world.

During pandemic, almost everyone is advised to stay at the comfort of their homes and students along with the professors are engaging online learning instead of having face-to-face classes. Online learning also includes difficulties especially in adjusting in terms of the environment, new learning system, and other contributing factors. When we try to observe the poster, it depicts that student are now engaging in a new perspective view of imagination wherein the students are at their comfort zones, where they can attend online class in their own places which put them at ease, and while trying to learn and explore new things through the new learning setup. The galaxy in the room represents on how we can expand ourselves with the new ideas and it is a symbol for a comfort zone which we are able to open our spaces for learning new concepts. The laptop/PC with a hand represents that while we are learning within our comfort zones, these new concepts along with the usage of our devices are trying to absorb us. These devices are making us sit still in our places while focusing on the discussion and further online activities engagement. The floating away effect in the picture represents the concept where students are not able to go often outside unlike the usual class setup. With this, the vision from the outside world seems to keep flying away than how we were used to it. Regarding to the girl who’s wearing a facemask, this is to give highlight to the continuous online class learning during pandemic. Pandemic does not stop anyone from learning but rather empowers the dedication of the students even if stated during a big and worldwide health crisis.

Engineering has always been viewed throughout human history as the discipline that could make use of abstract ideas in nature and put them to practical use. Frankly, it really is what engineering does. The engineers of Victorian era who harnessed the concept of electricity have illuminated the darkness of the night with the light bulb. People are now no longer limited to only working at daylight. Thus, it makes me wonder what the people of tens and hundreds of years ago think of our technology now, and how will they depict it. That is why most of the elements in my poster are in an antique and vintage aesthetic. It is to evoke the feeling that it really was a poster made by a person who long lived. The depiction of the rocket leaving the lithographic earth is a symbolism that from past technologies rises innovation. Also, the rocket symbolizes all the engineers needed to do it. Since the complexity of operating rockets requires the lending hand of most engineering disciplines. Bringing us to what was previously unknown, beyond the constraints of the past and to the grandeur of the future.

The poster’s main subject is a student with two different sides. It is every student’s dream to graduate and march further to the dreams they have planned for themselves, and this is represented by wearing a toga. When the pandemic began, some students had to stop studying to work and survive, while some decided to continue and face the struggles of online-blended learning. But regardless of the situation, the bravery, and courage of every Filipino student to continue in school or sacrifice their dreams for the meantime to survive in these trying times is represented by the red shirt and salakot. While the empty face wearing a face mask represents what most students are feeling right now – emptiness and anxiety due to the uncertainties of tomorrow. But the shades of green that drown the whole town and horizon symbolize that there’s hope, a better tomorrow, and a new beginning.
