Guide for homeroom parents

The homeroom parent serves a primary role in maintaining good communication between parents and school.

The homeroom parent and alternate take an overall responsibility for organising social events such as home visits and trips for the whole class. Some tasks may be delegated to other parents in the class.

The homeroom parent takes minutes of homeroom meetings.

The homeroom parent is a channel to passing on ideas/requests from the parents to the homeroom teacher.

A homeroom parent does not circumvent the parent/teacher relationship. If any parent is concerned about their child’s education, the parent must contact the teacher directly.
