The JNRC is a day center for refugees and asylum seekers. Here they can relax, learn, and receive counseling to achieve their goals. Most of their staff are volunteers.
The JNRC offers services ranging from basic supplies, to a relaxed atmosphere, to legal and social counseling, to employment support, to language and skills courses, for nearly 150 people every day. Using a holistic approach, they try to address both the urgent needs of those who have just arrived in Rome and the needs of those seeking to settle in Rome.
Help in the “Supply Room” — distributing clothes, toiletries, basic needs to guests; help maintain these services;
Assist guests with their CVs, job searches, enabling “prep talks” with professionals, applying for jobs (Advanced Italian level required);
Serve as front desk operator; welcome guests; help them orient through the center’s services;
Help with outreach, social media, translations, raise awareness, manage content related to JNRC’s mission;
Support language learning;
Assist with art therapy, music therapy, group therapy sessions to provide psychosocial support.
