VISITING STUDENT NOTE:
Visiting Students please note that 1 Trinity course credit = 3.5 semester hours and 1.5 Trinity course credits = 5.25 semester hours. You need to check with your study abroad office and registrar’s office to see how many courses you will need to take to fulfill the minimum amount of credits you need per semester at your home institution. For example: If your school is on a 4-credit system (meaning each course is worth 4 credits) you will need to take 5 courses to transfer back a full course load to your home institution.
Each course has a maximum enrollment cap.
There is a minimum enrollment of 5 students per course.
There is an add/drop period in Rome. Students can make changes to their course enrollment during the first week of classes and can only add/drop one class.
Trinity Students: Prior to submitting the course preference form, you must receive approval for all courses for major/minor credit from your advisor, major and minor departments. Please email Simon Martin, Academic Director (simon.martin@trincoll.edu) if you need a syllabus.
Trinity Students: A registration hold is placed on your account preventing you from registering for Hartford courses.
If you require academic accommodations, you must provide a letter from the Student Accessibility Resource Center or the office who works with accommodations on your campus. Please provide a letter for the services/accommodations you will need while in Rome.
Visit the Internship page to browse the internship placements and placement selection process.
The internship is a 5th course. You must be enrolled in four courses before you can enroll in the internship.
Visiting students: Please check with your home campus regarding their policy on receiving credit for this internship.
Visiting students are responsible for knowing how many courses they are required to take abroad and what the process and requirements are to bring the credit back to their home institution.
Trinity College requires all students to take a minimum of 4 Trinity credits. But your home institution may require 5 courses. Check with your home institution on how many courses/credits you are required to take at the Rome Campus and what the process and requirements are to bring the credit back to their home institution. It is recommended you contact you study away advisor and Registrar's Office.
Please note that one Trinity course credit = 3.5 semester hours. For Example: If your school is on a 4-credit system (meaning each course is worth 4 credits) you will need to take 5 courses in Rome to transfer back a full course load to your home institution.
Visiting students should receive all necessary approvals for courses prior to course registration.
Before the Rome Course Preference form opens, be sure to review all courses and class times.
TIP: Course Trips: Many of the courses also have weekend trips built into them where you will travel to different parts of Italy or even outside of Italy with your professor and classmates. You should be sure to take at least one! If a course has a course trip, it will be listed at the bottom of the course description below. These trips are also subject to change.
