Little Seven Conference becomes Hocking Valley League

JT played M&M in Athens as an end of the season matchup between the best in the MVL and HVL.

Keith Nelson scored 104 points for the season, at the time placing him in the top 10 in scoring in Ohio history.


The Logan Daily News report of the JT/Glouster game described JT as “Blue and White clad eleven”


J-T Graduate Leo Matyskella would be on the Ohio State Freshman Football Team in 1940 (pictured below, 3rd from right, front row), before joining the U.S. Army the following year

W.M. Anderson resigned as a teacher and a coach just prior to the start of the school year in order to take a position as an electrician, a year later he would enlist in the Army and be commissioned as an officer.

An article in 1963 mentioned that the JT program played in 1946, but an end of the season recap in the Athens Messenger on December 3, 1946 did not list Jacksonville Trimble with any football games.


The Southeastern Buckeye Conference was organized with charter schools of McArthur, Oak Hill, Rutland, The Planes, Chauncey, and Coalton. (11/5/1946)

First practice August 27

The season opener against Nelsonville was a late cancellation by JT, Nelsonville would play Columbus Holy Family instead.

While few game results have been found, the team did have an end of the season banquet.
