Research Proposal on Comics Preservation and Public Access
Class: LIS 60050 – Research and Assessment in Library and Information Science
Annotation:
This research proposal outlines a study focused on how public librarians perceive the preservation and accessibility of comic books in library settings. It includes a literature review, research question, methodological plan, sampling strategy, and analysis approach. Special attention was given to the justification of qualitative methods because comics are frequently overlooked and required a clear argument for their cultural significance.
I found that constructing this proposal helped me develop a stronger understanding of how research methods are selected and applied. I wanted to show that I can critique scholarly literature, identify gaps, and design a study that addresses real issues in public libraries.
