Marketing Plan for Kirby Schuster Library
Class: LIS 60609 – Marketing and Community Engagement
Annotation:
This marketing plan outlines a strategic approach to raising the visibility of the Kirby Schuster Library within its urban service area. It identifies target audiences, analyzes current perceptions, and develops messaging that reflects the library’s goals, values, and role in the community. Special attention was given to branding, communication channels, and promotional tactics that support long term engagement, including social media outreach, community partnerships, and on site programming.
I found that creating this plan helped me understand how marketing strengthens a library’s relationship with its community and shapes the way patrons perceive its value. I wanted to show that I can apply strategic thinking and communication principles to produce a plan that informs decision making and supports equal access to information.
PLO 1: Apply the field’s functional theories, principles, values, ethics, and skills to everyday practice.

PLO 5: Identify needs and connect individuals and communities with information that engages and empowers them.
