The Knights of Cinder are something of an anomaly, for several reasons actually. Firstly, It's rare for a religious group of the Third Pantheon To structure itself as an order of knights, But that's really the least of it. Dedicated to Paruallex, The Flame of Knowledge, they are a religious sect worshipping a deity that died eons ago. Their Church, the Temple of Mourning, is the only Structure within the Blackened Reaches of Dragonsgrave, and here these melancholy holy men honor traditions and that have nearly died out, for they are among the last remaining faithful of the long-dead Divine Lamplighter. The Knights of Cinder spend their days contemplating the actions and teachings of their deity, hoping to emulate him and be a guiding light for the world. They practice Arcane Channeling as well as swordplay, imbuing their weapons with the searing heat of dragonsfire. Despite all the good work they do- exterminating many of the dangerous monsters that crawl up from the fiery depths of Dragonsgrave before they can plague the rest of the Cinderlands- many knights succumb to despair, resigning themselves to being the last embers of a dying faith, soon to join it's deity in the next life. Others however, refuse to accept this and search desperately for a way to revitalize the order. A few even dare to dream bigger, and wonder if perhaps the Flame of Knowledge could be returned to life. Unfortunately, this latter wish can lead one to avenues best left untread.
