概要：リスニング学習は、教師と学習者双方が複雑なスキルを必要とする学習です。このワークショップでは、www.breakingnewsenglish.comを使用してレッスンの導入となる部分そして、レッスンそのものを構成するシンプルな方法について示したいと思います。今回のワークショップでは、まずは最初にリスニングの導入部分に焦点を当てます。初めにボディーランゲージを使ったコミュニケーションの練習をしたのち、談話の中でキーとなる部分を探します。それから、強勢やイントネーションといった声の使い方の重要なポイントに注目します。次に、レッスンの構造についてですが、リスニングでは3つのステージを教える必要があります。まず１つ目はリスニングそのものに入る前に、画像を用いたり語彙学習を行います。次に、リスニングをしながら適切にメモをとるためのスキルを伸ばします。教員側は理解度をはかる質問を用意します。最後に要約、そして意見を述べることで、リスニング学習としての３つのステージは完結します。
Abstract: Listening is a complex skill for teachers and learners. This workshop shows how to use warm-up tasks and a lesson structure using www.breakingnewsenglish.com to simplify listening. This workshop first focuses on listening warmers. First, we practice using body language to communicate. Second, we identify signal markers in discourse. Third, we recognise the importance of voice (e.g., stress and intonation). Secondly, the lesson ‘teaches’ three listening stages. In pre-listening, we discuss using images and vocabulary. In while-listening, we prepare comprehension questions to practice note-taking skills. In post-listening, we use summary and opinion tasks.

発表者の略歴：名古屋商科大学講師。日本、韓国、英国、ニュージーランドでの教員経験を持つ。現在、ニュージーランドのビクトリア大学の博士論文提出資格者として、EFLリスニング、レッスン資料、プロセスベースのリスニング戦略の使用などについて研究中。
Presenter’s Bio Data: Naheen Madarbakus-Ring is a lecturer at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business in Japan. She has taught EFL in Japan, South Korea, the UK and New Zealand. Currently a Ph.D. candidate at Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand, her research areas include EFL listening, lesson materials, and using process-based listening strategies.

概要：このプレゼンテーションではオンライン授業、そして対面授業に活用することのできるリスニング授業について注目します。参加者はパワーポイントやGoogleスライド等のスライドツールを使って、シンプルながらも魅力的な教材を作る方法を学びます。また様々なアクティビティを紙媒体、デジタル媒体に合わせる方法についても学びます。そして、特に携帯端末を使った楽しく双方向で行えるリスニング・アクティビティのための無料オンラインプラットフォーム制作にも取り組みます。これらの教材は、年齢、レベルを問わず、どんな学習者に対しても利用することが可能ですが、参加者は、実際の授業でこれらをどのように使うかを直接学ぶことができる機会となります。
Abstract: This presentation will look at ways educators can create listening lessons for online and classroom use. Attendees will learn how to create simple, yet insightful and engaging worksheets and books using slide tools like PowerPoint and Google Slides. Attendees will learn how to make various activities in minutes, and how to adapt them for paper and digital use. In addition, the presentation will model several free online platforms that make listening activities fun and interactive, especially on mobile devices. Attendees will get to see how to use and create lessons firsthand. Teachers can use these materials for all levels and ages.

発表者の略歴：サンディエゴ州立大学にて修士課程修了。２０年以上の教員経験を持ち、elllo (English Listening Lesson Library Online) など、世界中で多くの学習者に利用されている英語学習用の無料オンライン・ウェブサイトを複数立ち上げる (elllo.org, soundgrammar.com, meels.org and spanishlistening.org)。またピア―ソン出版からリスニング教材本3冊を上梓し、現在は立命館アジア太平洋大学にて英語の授業を担当。
Presenter’s Bio Data: Todd Beuckens is an ESL teacher with over 20 years' experience in the classroom. He holds a MA from San Diego State University in Learning, Design and Technology and has created several free online websites that offer free content and training, such as elllo.org, soundgrammar.com, spanishlistening.org, and meels.org. He has published three listening textbooks with Pearson Publishing. He currently teaches English at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
