Task:
Choose a community which has a very different set of values to your own. There are some examples of such communities below, you could choose one of these but you are free to choose your own.
Produce a 4 slide presentation (8 -10 minutes) which answers the following questions:
a) What is distinctive about this communities beliefs / knowledge / values ?
b) What beliefs in their community appear to be uncontestable ? (let's introduce the word "hegemonic" here !).
c) What reasons might exist for the beliefs / perspective of this community ?
d) What criteria can we use to distinguish between knowledge, belief and opinion in this community?
