School counselors provide an effective school counseling program through delivering services both directly and indirectly to students.
Direct Student Services - These "are in person interactions between school counselors and students" (ASCA, 2019). The methods of direct student services include instruction, appraisal an advisement and counseling
Indirect Student Services - These are non face-to-face and occur from gathering information regarding student needs. The methods of indirect student services include consultation, collaboration and referrals (ASCA, 2019).
Working with students face to face has been the most beneficial learning experience. Non face to face student support is equally important.
