Humans on Tjarral are nearly identical to those on Earth, with a few important exceptions. These tend to relate to their earliest environment, on the western grasslands of Mocueyoh. There are also slightly different racial phenotypes, on account of the different environments they have found themselves in over the years.
The Malehinese are a fairly major group across the Draconic Ocean, occupying some two dozen large islands and several hundred smaller ones. Brown-skinned, brown- or black-haired, outgoing and usually friendly, they speak at least one of over half a dozen languages, but most today will know the languages of the isles of Akuliha and Tehapu.
The Ngamāhi are a Malehinese people, energetic and somewhat judgemental, separated from the others for a while now. They have brown skin and curly brown or black hair, and speak various dialects of Tehapuan across the islands of Tinao and Onuhi, which together make up what is known as Tehapu.
The Djoolaman are a group of related peoples from along the coast of eastern Yandjee. Dark of skin with frizzy blonde hair in a majority of the population, they are known as a very agreeable people. Notable groups include the Ilughee, Nhandjaweera, Oorlunyanha, and Lodjayarn, each of whom has their own related dialect.
The Kuhuka, from southern Yandjee, are dark of skin and hair, and relatively tall. An inventive, conscientious people by nature, mostly found in the south of Yandjee, the Kuhuka speak the related Akahng languages: Arrakay, Dhanyatil, Irrukur, Tjukangarl, Arrahng, Kereyatj, Danyoweka, Raikauka, and Ginyaoka. The last five are, to a certain degree, mutually intelligible; the first four are as divergent from the languages around old Duway are they are from one another.
The Tjung are a reserved, critical people from the rocky promontories in southern Yandjee, related to the Warruk, dark of skin with frizzy black hair. The Tjung speak a single language, but one with local "taboo dialects" that make communication between tribes something of a difficulty.
The Warruk are an outgoing, inventive people from the southwestern coastlines of Yandjee, related to the Tjung, dark of skin and hair with slightly oblong features. They speak related languages which are sometimes considered dialects of a single tongue.
The Narragundi are a cautious people living mainly in the northwestern Red Sea desert region (locally Barranur) of Yandjee, and are dark of skin and hair alike, with square features. Although there are regional languages in their family, the majority now speak Capitol (Tugwannatlu), the dialect favoured by the emperor.
The Nyarawanyigara are a reserved, cautious people from the northern coasts of Yandjee (and the southern coast of Corundalha), where they are divided between a number of cities separated by deep jungle. Dark of skin and hair, sharp of features, the Nyarawanyigara speak different languages (including Aggrabantur), but communicate with one another mainly through a classical language used in religion and astronomy. They are related to the Gomirna and Nio.
The Eya are resilient yet careless, from the island of Eileiwa and its associated archipelago. Dark of skin with straight black hair, they speak a number of dialects across the islands, but will typically also know Eralca.
Confident but critical, the Gomirna live on Pumirna and nearby islands, and are related to the Nyarawanyigara and Nio. They have brown skin and jet-black hair, and typically speak one of two languages, Eralca and Ulmanda.
An efficient, critical people, the Nio mostly live on the island of Pumirna, and are related to the Nyarawanyigara and Gomirna. They have dark brown skin and jet-black, somewhat curly hair. They also have three (tonal) languages.
A bold (if moody) people, the Nona live on the island of Corundalha, speaking a patchwork of related dialects.
The Shenggiroh—a philosophical if somewhat careless people, with black hair and skin slightly darker than the Dhunir—live mostly on the islands of Kshekari and Chunari, although they previously controlled a much larger area. They speak a number of related languages, of which Inggyalém is the most common.
The Dhunir—extravagant and energetic—live on the islands of Svidhuni and Verna, and have light brown skin and wavy brown hair. The main language of the Dhunir is Kshamakaraktha.
The Kuzhek live on the islands of Inakku, Qomētti, Uttān, and Chūvi, and are related to the Cuatzal. Bronze of skin and black of hair, with rounded faces, they are typically quite friendly. The main language they currently speak is Qimuchēka, though there are a number of related ones.
The Cuatzal live along the Temacan Peninsula on the dwarf continent of Mocueyoh, and are related to the Kuzhek of the south. They are efficient if sensitive, and have light tan skin and thick black hair. A relatively new arrival to the field of governance, they speak Motzálac quite ubiquitously.
The Mwelu live in the Edori region of the dwarf continent of Mocueyoh, and are, like their close cousins the Yaroi, a sensitive, curious people. Red-brown of skin and straight of hair, the Mwelu are divided into a number of kingdoms along the coast.
The Yaroi live in the highlands of the Edori region on the dwarf continent of Mocueyoh, and like the Mwelu they are sensitive and curious. They have dark-tanned skin and straight black hair, and are divided into twelve Lineages, all of which speak the same language.
The Machu live on the northwestern coastlines of Mocueyoh, have a tendency to be organized and solitary, and have pale skin and raven-black hair. They speak the saChu language, related to the asaGira and asKená languages of their cousins, the Gira and the izDená.
The Gira live inland in the west of Mocueyoh, in the forests and highlands. Reserved but confident, they have tanned skin and raven-black hair. They speak the asaGira language, related to the saChu language of the Machu and the asKená language of the izDená.
The izDená, related to the Gira and Machu, live in the eastern corner of Mocueyoh in a large valley close to the Gykken Peninsula. They are tanned of skin with dark hair, have a typically bold and calm attitude, and speak the asKená language—related to the asaGira and Sachu languages.
The Sau, bashful and philosophical, live along the shores of Lake Chuna (locally Djien Ke) in eastern Mocueyoh. They speak a number of related (tonal) languages; their historical documents are all in "Capitol Sau".
In the Yashdar River Basin one can find many who answer to the name of Qariyyu. Pale of skin and dark of hair, with emphasized facial features, the Qariyyu are typically quite a consistent people. They speak the Qoliyyu language, or more rarely the Tarviye or Tharrabic languages.
On the peninsula of Gykken on Mocueyoh, and the smaller island of Ch'akken to the north, live the Gykkura. Tan-skinned and black or brown of hair, often with epicanthic folds, the Gykkura—an organized, reserved people, related to the Jegpu'l—usually speak a dialect of Gykkeni, including the nearly-incomprehensible "dialect" of Tuhasi.
The Jegpu'l lived on Ch'akken and nearby islands for centuries before the related Gykkura arrived. A resilient people, they speak Quggu, which is only mutually intelligible with Gykkeni when the Gykkura want it to be. Pale skin and black hair aside, they tend to have hazel eyes and epicanthic folds.
The Arleir are a peculiar people, outgoing yet judgemental, from the peninsula of Einir, like the Noyr and Farconas. They have pale skin, hair ranging from brown to blond to red, and eyes from blue to grey. The most common language spoken by this people today is Rhaeth, but Petheu is also spoken in some areas.
The Noyr (Nòir), who like the Arleir and Farconas live in Einir, are paler than their cousins, with a greater propensity for red hair. They are more extravagant than the Arleir, but also friendlier. The typical language they use today is Rhaeth, but their own language, Muill, is still spoken in parts of the north.
The Farconas, related to the Arleir and Noyr in the north, live in the south of Einir. They are more tan than their cousins, with hair usually brown to blond. A judgemental yet extravagant people, today they mostly speak Faravellan, though many also know Voerian, Phaeroian, and Rhaeth.
Across the archipelago called Oma—two hundred islands between Einir and Aion—live the Phaeroi, swarthier and softer-featured than their Farconas counterparts (with the occasional blond or redhead). These friendly, inventive people speak many dialects of Phaeroian, though that of the city of Hystarai is most prominent.
On the mainland of Aion live the Lewidzians, a Shmetic people (and the largest one extant). Consistent but reserved, they have relatively pale skin and hair from black to blond, and speak Lewidzian.
The Hākan make their home in the east of Aion, and are related, however distantly, to the Phaeroi of the west. They are bold, if a bit moody, and speak the Hākan language.
The Dremezyadni are a Shmetic people, bold and cold and with lighter skin than their western cousins, who make their homes on the island of Drezaddion and speak the Drezaddic language (related relatively closely to Lewidzian).
The Yanik live in the far north of the world, on the islands of Yiyande. They are nervous and cautious, sail the seas on boats of stone, are as pale as can be in hair (though not in skin), and speak dialects of a single, ancient language.
