This is an interactive bulletin Board which allows students to scan the qr codes on the paws to find some positivity inducing cat videos. While the premise is simple, everyone needs boost occasionally, and looking at cute animals has been been proven to improve one's mood. Standard 8 is about instructional strategies, and this bulletin board helps students calm down in an instructional setting, taking it upon themselves to take break when overwhelmed.
Aligning closer to the goal of instruction strategies, I have my own review game that I've created to run with my students during down time. It's called Submarines, Steamships, and Sailboats, and it's a battleship-esque game which can be applied within any classroom to get students engaged with review. Personal review of the game after running it the first time:
"I believe the activity went well and I was happy with how it performed in our class. No issues arised and it went smoothly with the descriptions I gave. I was worried it might be a bit complicated to understand, but I think my directions were clear enough that everyone did well."
