Standard 6 is about assessment. It doesn't have to be testing, it can be any way of engaging student understanding as it applies to the curriculum you teach. In this case however, I created a unit of 4 subject cross-curricular lessons about pi and then created the summative assessment (left) covering the things students learned. While I don't have my own classroom to teach this unit, I have certain expectations and proactive additions to aid it’s effectiveness. My review of this assessment is to the right, covering what it hopes to accomplish alongside ways it could be improved.
Like I stated earlier, assessment, isn't all about testing. To assess a student's knowledge is to understand their grasp of the content you taught them. This can often take the form of a review, or as many teachers and students like to implement, digital review games. This mean of digital assessment gets students excited to engage with the content they've learned while essentially tricking them into studying for formal assessments as they occur later. I have created a list of 5 of these digital review games which describe what the platform accomplishes, and my review of their effectiveness.
