📖 One Bible, Two Realities…
✍️ One side reveals a heart that seeks, studies, and surrenders.
🧊 The other? Unmarked, unread… unmoved.
💡 God’s Word isn’t just to be owned—it’s to be opened, lived, and loved.
📖 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.”
— James 1:22–24
🙏 It’s time for a vital spiritual checkup. Have you ever stopped to ask:
“Is my church truly Christian… or just almost?”
That’s not a rhetorical question—it’s a life-defining one.
In this age of spiritual confusion, many churches still carry the name “Christian,” still sing familiar songs, and still speak the name of Jesus—yet quietly drift from the truth of God’s Word.
They may read the Bible, but reinterpret it.
They may preach salvation, but reimagine what we’re being saved from.
They may speak of grace, but redefine sin.
📖 Like a Bible split in two—one side worn, loved, and marked with truth; the other pristine, untouched, and silent—many churches look faithful on the surface, but only one side truly lives and breathes the Word.
A closed Bible can still sit in the spotlight—but unless it’s opened, studied, and obeyed, it becomes a prop, not a sword.
Real disciples mark their Bibles—and are marked by them.
Jesus said:
📖 “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:18)
That’s a promise—but notice: He didn’t say He would build many churches.
He is forming one Church, one Bride, one Spirit-filled Body—united in both truth and grace.
A thousand conflicting versions cannot all be His.
Only one is the real thing.
🛤️ So we ask again—gently, honestly, urgently:
Are we part of the Church that Jesus is building… or just something that looks close enough?
Are we worshiping in a church that’s truly submitted to Christ—
—or one that’s “almost-Christian”… close enough to comfort us, but far enough to mislead us?
The Bible makes it clear:
📖 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope… one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
—Ephesians 4:4–6
The true Church is not defined by denomination, location, or cultural relevance. It is defined by faith in the one true God, revealed fully in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and submitted to the authority of Scripture.
No matter your denomination, non-denomination, or affiliation—there are ultimately only two categories in God’s eyes:
Christian or non-Christian.
Redeemed or lost.
Heaven-bound or hell-bound.
This isn’t about labels. It’s about truth. And the truth is this: There is only one Church that will be raptured, one Body that belongs to Christ—and it is made up of those who are born again, faithful to the Gospel, and walking in truth.
🐑 Wolves in Wool? Beware the Disguise
Not every "sheep" belongs to the Shepherd.
Some carry Bibles… and fangs.
⚠️ Test the spirits. Know the truth.
📖 “By their fruit you will recognize them.” —Matthew 7:16
Let’s go deeper. Do you attend the true Church, built on the Rock of Christ? Or has your church gradually become something else?
Some groups are easy to identify as false or cultic—but others are harder to spot, because they sound Christian, look Christian, and even quote Scripture. Yet under the surface, their doctrines deny the very foundations of the faith.
When we think of cults, we might picture bizarre rituals, dark gatherings, or extreme isolation. But in reality, many cults are far more subtle. They knock on your door. They smile and hand you a booklet. They say “Jesus” and carry a Bible—but it’s not the same Jesus, and not the same Gospel.
Scripture warns us:
📖 “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God… This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.”
—1 John 4:1–2
Cults—especially those that claim to be Christian—twist Scripture, deny core doctrines, and replace grace with works. They often preach a different Jesus and a different Gospel.
Two well-known examples are:
Jehovah’s Witnesses, who deny the deity of Christ and reject salvation by grace.
Latter-day Saints (Mormons), who add other books to Scripture, redefine God, and teach a works-based path to heaven.
These groups use Christian language, but deny essential truths.
💬 "As a missionary who has ministered across many regions of the world, I’ve learned the vital importance of testing the spirits, just as John taught: 'Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.'
With so many religions and belief systems out there, you can’t always tell who you're really dealing with. That’s why John’s litmus test is so helpful. I simply ask, 'Who do you say Jesus is? Is He God in the flesh, an ordinary man, a prophet, or a teacher?'
The answer reveals everything—and opens the door to share the true Jesus through Scripture."

🔐 Built on Truth, Secured by Grace
Seven pillars stand unshaken—each one anchoring the true Church of Jesus Christ: Jesus, Grace, Cross, Risen, Gospel, One, Trinity.
Without these, the foundation crumbles. With them, eternity is sealed.
✝️🕊️📖💪
A truly Christian church—regardless of denomination—must embrace the following essential doctrines:
The Deity of Christ
Jesus is fully God and fully man. “I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30)
Salvation by Grace Alone
We are saved by God’s unearned favor, not by our good works.
(Ephesians 2:8–9)
Salvation Through Christ Alone
“There is no other name under heaven… by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12; John 14:6)
The Bodily Resurrection of Christ
The resurrection proves Jesus is Lord. Without it, our faith is empty.
(1 Corinthians 15:14)
The True Gospel
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. This is the Gospel.
(1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Galatians 1:8–9)
Monotheism
There is only one God—eternally existing, all-powerful, all-wise.
(Exodus 20:3; Isaiah 43:10)
The Holy Trinity
God is one in essence and three in Person: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19; John 14:16–17)
Any so-called church that denies even one of these is not the Church Jesus is building.
This is where things get more complicated. Some churches don’t deny the deity of Christ or the resurrection. They read the Bible. They sing familiar worship songs. But they’ve started to reinterpret or ignore major portions of Scripture—especially on moral issues like marriage, sexuality, and the sanctity of life.
This is what we mean by “almost-Christian.” They’re not cults, but they’re no longer fully aligned with God’s Word.
This isn’t just a building split in two—it’s a picture of the modern church, torn between the timeless truth of God’s Word and the shifting tides of culture.
On one side stands the unchanging Gospel: clear, beautiful, rooted in Scripture, holding fast to what God has spoken from the beginning—marriage between one man and one woman. 📖
On the other side, a new gospel emerges—one that trades obedience for affirmation, truth for tolerance, holiness for human applause.
Rainbow flags and slogans may flutter, but they cannot cover what’s missing: the authority of Scripture.
The fracture isn’t architectural—it’s spiritual, ideological, and eternal.
Only one side leads to life. The other, no matter how loving it may appear, leads away from the Cross. ➕
Some churches have now embraced same-sex marriage—not because the Bible changed, but because culture did.
📜 Denominations that affirm same-sex marriage:
Episcopal Church
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)
United Methodist Church (in many regions)
Presbyterian Church (USA)
United Church of Christ
Reform and Conservative branches of Judaism
Society of Friends (Quakers)
Unitarian Universalist Church
📖 Denominations that reject same-sex marriage (biblically grounded):
Assemblies of God
Southern Baptist Convention
Roman Catholic Church
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
Orthodox Jewish movement
Most conservative Baptist and Pentecostal fellowships
Many independent Bible churches
These positions are not just theological preferences—they are markers of obedience to the Word of God. Romans 1, Genesis 2, and Ephesians 5 all clearly define biblical marriage as between one man and one woman.
Two pulpits, two messages. One shines with Scripture, defending life from the womb. The other dims beneath slogans while the Bible stays shut. Many churches now choose culture over Christ. What does your church preach—truth or trends? 🕊️📖⚖️
The Bible is also clear about the value of life in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16; Jeremiah 1:5). Yet many denominations have shifted their stance here as well.
🚫 Churches that oppose abortion rights:
Assemblies of God
Southern Baptist Convention
Roman Catholic Church
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
African Methodist Episcopal Church
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Many nondenominational and Pentecostal churches
✅ Churches that support abortion rights:
Episcopal Church
ELCA
United Methodist Church (officially divided)
Presbyterian Church (USA)
United Church of Christ
Reform and Conservative Judaism
Unitarian Universalist Church
Some religious groups have no clear position, but silence in the face of evil is still a stance.
In a world of shifting opinions, Scripture stands unshaken. God’s Word is eternal (Matthew 24:35), trustworthy, and not up for debate. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, test everything. If your church no longer reflects His truth—it’s time to move.
📖 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
—Matthew 24:35
Scripture is unchanging, because God is unchanging (Hebrews 13:8). His Word is not open to revision or cultural negotiation.
Early Church Fathers recognized this. Clement of Rome, writing in the first century, said: “Look carefully into the Scriptures, which are the true utterances of the Holy Spirit.”
When churches begin to abandon Scripture, they are no longer representing Christ. They are building something else.
In Acts 17:11, the Bereans were praised because “they examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
We should do the same today. Ask your church leaders:
What do we believe about Jesus?
What do we teach about salvation?
What is our stance on marriage? Abortion? Gender?
Are we following God’s Word, or the world’s opinions?
If the answers don’t line up with Scripture, it may be time to prayerfully find a church that does.
Friend, there is only one Church that Jesus is building. It is marked by truth, holiness, repentance, worship, and love. And it is built upon the solid foundation of His unchanging Word.
If your church has drifted, or if you’ve realized you’ve been part of an almost-Christian community—don’t despair. God is calling you higher. He’s inviting you to be part of the remnant. The true Bride. The Church that shines with His light in a dark world.
