🙋♂️ Meet Brother Chuck
🌴😊 Sharing joyful smiles with two Mayan boys in Red Bank Village, deep in the heart of Belize’s lush rainforest 🌿🌺. Kneeling down with them, we laughed, played, and soaked in the simple beauty of life 🌞💛. Ministry is serious work ✝️🙏, but there’s always room for fun 🏃♂️🎉, laughter 😂, and moments that warm the heart ❤️. These connections remind me why every life matters 🌏💖.
Hi there! I’m Brother Chuck, a born-again, Spirit-filled follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for God’s Word, world missions, and everyday ministry. I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years—some of them sweaty hard hats—but the one that matters most is “servant of Jesus Christ.”
I’m also a husband, a father to two grown children, a stepfather to two more, and a proud grandfather of three. Family means the world to me, and I thank God every day for the love and grace He’s shown through each of them.
I’ve been blessed to serve as an Assemblies of God missionary and pastor in Belize, an Area Care Leader, a director of a national camp and conference center, a jail and prison minister, a store owner, a weld department foreman, and an electric arc furnace operator. That may sound like a strange combo, but somehow God weaves all things together for His purposes (Romans 8:28)!
My heart for missions led to one of the greatest privileges of my life—being commissioned by the Assemblies of God as a Missionary Associate to Belize, Central America, where I was invited to serve as Director of the Assemblies of God National Camp and Conference Center.
That role came with a full plate—managing daily operations, scheduling events, overseeing finances, coordinating visiting mission teams, and yes… even fixing the plumbing when needed.
One of my greatest joys during that time was launching a small Bible study for nearby villagers in the camp chapel. We called it “Prayer, Praise, and Promises,” and our simple slogan said it all:
“Real People, Real Problems, Real God.”
Week by week, God breathed life into that humble gathering—and within a year, it had grown into a thriving church of over 200 families. Not because I’m anything special, but because God is still in the life-changing business.
That growth was the Holy Spirit doing what only He can do. I just showed up, obeyed, and tried not to get in His way.
Before my full-time appointment to Belize, I had the privilege of ministering across Central and South America, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean. Whether I was preaching to the Maasai along the dusty roads of East Africa, the Quechua high in the mountains of Peru, or the Maya deep in the rainforests of Belize, one truth has never changed:
✝️💫 Jesus saves. Jesus heals. Jesus delivers. 🕊️🔥
💖✨ And He still fills hearts with the Holy Spirit—wherever He is welcomed. 🕊️🔥
🌙⚽ Night after night, more than 10,000 Tanzanians 🇹🇿 filled this soccer field in Dar es Salaam, standing shoulder to shoulder 🤝, eyes fixed 👀 on a stage 🎭 built by local believers ✝️. Our U.S. Assemblies of God 🇺🇸 team had joined forces with Reality Outreach Ministries ✨ and over 50 African nationals 🌍 to present the drama Heaven’s Gates & Hell’s Flames 🔥🌟. It wasn’t fancy 🎬—but the Spirit of God 🕊️ was present. And as the Gospel 📖 came alive on stage, thousands responded 🙏, flooding the altar ⛪ to surrender their lives 💖 to Christ ✝️. Eternity ⏳ was being rewritten on that dusty field 🌾—one soul 🌟 at a time.
🙏✨ A powerful moment 🌟 as thousands of Africans 🌍 respond to the Gospel 📖. As they lift their arms 🙌 in unison, they boldly declare 💬 their repentance ✝️ and embrace Christ’s transforming love ❤️🔥 during our crusade in Dar es Salaam 🇹🇿.
🤝📖 Standing side by side with my translator 🗣️ at a local church ⛪ in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 🇹🇿. In every culture 🌍, the Gospel ✝️ speaks—and sometimes, it just needs a little help 📝💬 crossing the language barrier! 🌟💖
I’ve spent years pursuing theological studies—working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Theology and Missions. Along the way, I studied church growth, received cross-cultural training, and deepened my understanding of God’s Word and global ministry.
My academic journey included coursework through:
Berean University of the Assemblies of God (Springfield, MO, USA)
The School of Missions at Central Bible College (Springfield, MO, USA)
The Caribbean School of Theology at the Belize Bible Institute (Belize City, Belize, Central America)
I didn’t get to finish the degree—life happens, especially when you’re running a business, raising a family, doing missions, and pouring steel 60 hours a week.
But the solid Bible education and on-the-job training I received laid a deep foundation—one I still build on every single day.
If you’ve ever thought God can’t use regular, everyday folks—you’re wrong. He specializes in it.
Today, I’m retired from the job site—but not from the call. Through this site, I’ll be sharing thoughts on today’s world through a biblical lens, offering stories from the mission field, writing pieces on Christian apologetics, and helping believers rightly divide the Word of truth.
That’s easy: the Great Commission.
📖 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” —Matthew 28:19
Jesus didn’t say, “Go if it’s convenient,” or “Go if you’re seminary-trained,” or “Go if you have a big budget.” He just said, GO. And that’s been my heartbeat—from steel mills to prison yards to mountain villages.
As of this writing, I’m 70 years old, and just seven months removed from open heart surgery—an aortic valve and aortic root replacement. It was major surgery. But God brought me through, and here I am, still going, still writing, still telling people about Jesus.
Recovery wasn’t easy, but God’s faithfulness never wavered. Each new morning is a reminder that He’s not finished with me yet. There’s still a message to share, a prayer to pray, and a hand to hold.
I don’t know if I’ve got one year or twenty-five ahead of me—but I know where I’m going when this life ends. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). So I’m not worried. I’m just focused on finishing the race strong and encouraging you to do the same.
If you’re entering retirement, walking through trials, or wondering if God can still use you—He can. He does. He will.
Let’s keep going together.
(P.S. On this page, you’ll find some snapshots from my ministry work in Belize, Peru, Tanzania, Dominican Republic, and El Salvador.)
** Just downstream from their mother, six barefoot Mayan children laugh, play, and scrub laundry in the same river that supplies their drinking and cooking water. One little girl kneels on a rock, washing clothes like she’s seen her mother do a thousand times. Another child, in only her underwear, multitasks—because on laundry day, bath time happens too. Two boys smile curiously at my camera, having never seen a photo of themselves. This is life in Red Bank Village.
Mayan villages line this river for miles, each adding soap, silt, and waste. Farther upstream, Guatemalan Indian communities do the same—and perhaps even factories we’ll never see are polluting the very water these children drink. But for centuries, this has been their way of life. They don’t complain. They smile. And they carry their water home to thatch-roof huts with dirt floors, never imagining it could be otherwise.
As missionaries, we came with compassion—not just for clean water, but for the Living Water. Because while this river may never be pure, hearts can be. And only Jesus can cleanse what truly matters most.
—John 4:14
Four young Mayan girls stand hand in hand in Red Bank Village, each wearing a colorful, homemade dress—blue, burgundy, green, and light blue. Though their faces are serious, there’s beauty in their unity and innocence. Maybe they’d never seen a camera before… but they stood still, together, and let the moment be captured.
"A Hub of Harvest in Belize City"
Tucked behind these humble gates is a powerhouse of ministry. This is the national headquarters of the Assemblies of God in Belize—home to the General Council, the Belize Bible Institute, the Family Bookstore, dormitories, classrooms, a chapel, and a cafeteria. But it’s more than a campus—it’s a launching pad for pastors, missionaries, and workers called to carry the Gospel across the nation and beyond. From here, the light of Christ shines brightly into every corner of Belize.
📖 "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."
—2 Timothy 2:2
Laundry day in Red Bank Village—this Mayan mother washes clothes the traditional way, beating them clean on river rocks while her little ones lend a helping hand. All of it framed by the untouched beauty of the Belizean rainforest.
Clowning around before church with two little buddies in Red Bank Village, deep in the Belizean rainforest. No pews, no frills—just benches, laughter, and hearts wide open for Jesus.
Simple and practical—this Mayan outhouse blends seamlessly into the surrounding jungle. Built from bamboo with a thatch roof, it's a humble necessity in this remote village. Just outside, a plantain tree stands as a quiet sentinel in the lush, tropical landscape. Life in the rainforest can be challenging, but it’s also beautifully resilient.
Before each service in Red Bank Village, we’d squeeze into this simple Mayan church—just benches, no pews, but plenty of joy. That’s me on the left, surrounded by men and boys (the ladies are all on the other side, as is customary in Mayan culture). The bearded guy on the far right is my dear friend and mentor, Roy. We’ve ministered together for many years—and yes, he talks just as much as I do. We’ve even been known to playfully argue over who gets the mic first!
Peek-a-boo joy in the jungle! This shy little Mayan girl, dressed in a handmade pink dress likely sewn by her mother, peeked around a tree laughing at me while I snapped the shot. She was bashful, beautiful, and full of life—capturing the sweet innocence that still shines bright in Red Bank Village.
**In a humble neighborhood of Dangriga, Belize, weather-worn homes on stilts line the dirt road—raised high to survive the rainy season’s floods and the storms that sometimes rage in from the Caribbean. Life is hard here. Just down the river, in stark contrast, sits a lavish mansion with manicured grounds, tall fences, sleek cars, and a yacht tied to a private dock. I asked a local who lived there. 'A drug lord,' he told me. Maybe it’s true, maybe not—but what’s certain is this: in every nation, light and darkness live side by side. And the Gospel is for both.
Take a look at the people and places that have shaped my ministry and deepened my love for the nations. From the villages of Belize to the mountain churches of Peru, these moments tell the story of God’s love reaching across borders. Behind every smile, every handshake, and every prayer is a story. These are the faces and moments that remind me why we go—to share Jesus with the world. Let's keep it going!
