The Wild Robot, Assignment 5.4 Adapting to Changing Environments

The animal characters in "The Wild Robot" are greatly affected by climate, from the timing of the birds migration to the winter storms during their hibernation. Roz shows that she has the ability to adapt and change, but what about the other animals? The island was once a mountain surrounded by land, will the animals be able to adapt to the changes in their environment caused by climate change?

With rising temperatures and seas, massive droughts, and changing landscapes, successfully adapting to climate change is increasingly important. For humans, this can mean using technology to find solutions. But for some plants and animals, adapting to these changes involves the most ancient solution of all: evolution. Erin Eastwood explains how animals are adapting to climate change.
