FLIP National is a non-profit organization that does advocacy work on behalf of first-generation and/or low-income students at colleges & universities across the country. FLIP at UVA’s mission is to coalesce students to advocate for an expansion of University resources, empowering first generation and/or low income students through the endorsement of educational and economic equity. We strive to unite students through programming that promotes awareness and inclusivity of FGLI (first generation and/or low income) students, ensuring they thrive within institutional and peer structured support systems.

Virginia Law First-Generation Professionals - Virginia Law First-Generation Professionals focuses on facilitating the transition and integration of first-generation college students, professional students, Americans and students from low-income or working-class communities into UVA Law and the legal profession. Through programming aimed at addressing barriers that exist to advancement in the legal profession, the organization hopes to make the profession a more inclusive space for students of diverse backgrounds and let first-generation students know and feel that they are supported at UVA Law.
