Zayn gave half of the world a heart attack by dropping his single, “Better”, out of the blue. I’m sure you tuned in if you could, if not be sure to go check it out. Zayn kicked off his Z3 era with an upbeat melody and interesting music video. It opens with Zayn laying down on a couch, shirtless in someone’s living room. The intro is almost tropical, sounding kind of like a ukulele. This song is perfect for 2 am drives through the empty streets with it blasting through the speakers. As the camera pans out we see that he now has red hair. Zayn loves to try wacky colors with his hair, and we love that about him! He also has new earrings that compliment the whole look. As the video progresses he puts on more clothes until we see him in a suit. Somehow he looks more put together after 2 and a half minutes then I do after hours of primping. Throughout the video, we see clips of people listening in or watching him, leading us to believe that he is setting up a narrative that he will continue to reveal throughout the era. An iconic friendship that ended going up in flames. Louis and Zayn always shared a special bond throughout their time in the band, both confirming they were the closest to each other. Onstage shenanigans, interview games, matching tattoos and twitter banter, they were the fun friendship everyone craved. However, tensions between the pair seemed to grow during Zayn’s split from the band in 2015. During interviews after his departure, Louis seemed reluctant to speak about him, and then came the infamous twitter war with naughty boy, confirming everyone suspicions that the two weren’t on great terms. Years passed until the tragic death of Louis’ mum Johannah in 2016. Just after her passing Louis was due to sing his new single for the first time and requested that all the boys come to the show. While Harry, Liam, and Niall were in attendance, Zayn didn’t know. In interviews after Louis did reveal that this hurt him immensely. But flash forward to 2020 and the BUS1 tattoos. Louis and Zayn back in the time of the band got matching BUS1 tattoos and it seemed as if Zayn had been letting his fade. But in a photo released for his new single “Better”, it appears that Zayn has had his tattoo touched up. Not a day later and following Baby Malik’s birth announcement we saw Louis, who had recently followed Zayn, liked the announcement. While these aren’t major moments it's enough to reignite our Zouis hearts and spur the hope that the two have reconnected somewhere along the road.

On September 23, 2020, Zayn confirmed that he and Gigi Hadid had given birth to a beautiful baby girl! Zayn and Gigi both posted on their social media platforms gushing about their daughter. She is healthy and was born on either the 19th or 20th of September, as confirmed by Gigi on the 23rd. The heartfelt tweet Zayn posted on September 23rd featured her little hand wrapped in his. He wrote, “Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful🙏🏽❤️ to try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task.”

He then continued on saying,

“The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, and thankful for the life we will have together x”

We are so happy for Zayn and Gigi and their lovely daughter. We know they’ll both be amazing parents!

Since then the views have been climbing and it stayed a fan favourite for many, and now 4 years later the music video hit 1 BILLION views. An incredible feat for any artist, this is Zayn’s second time securing a video with over 1 billion views following dusk till dawn and making him the youngest ever British artist with two videos over 1 billion. The news of this immense milestone hit just after the announcement of the birth of Zayn and Gigi’s baby girl on the 23^rd of September. So, from the release to 1 billion views Zayn has grown into a successful and respected solo artist, with a blossoming young family and another album on the way, we can’t wait to see what else he can achieve, congratulations Zayn!
