An ideal Festival location would combine a lot of space with a large capacity to hold content, but we simply don't have that ideal so we work very successfully with what we do have, which serves well and is expanding each year as more real-estate is acquired to increase capacity and enhance the venue.
Erik and Hrosskell regions lie to the North of the continent of Nautilus in Second Life:
Hrosskell is an established sailing community
Neighbouring Erik is the location of Lili's Yard virtual boatbuiders
And that's how life in these regions carries on for nine months of each year - folks live their virtual lives; new boats are built and launched; cruises pass through, and local sailing clubs run their own events.
Then from April or May each year the Yard is torn down and the Festival venue infrastructure takes its place, spreading into Hrosskell to create a distributed yet combined venue.
And then it all returns to normal by the beginning of July - infrastructure is sent into store at high altitude ready for next time and the lives, boat-building and sailing carry on as though nothing different had ever been here!
